Yes inferno is strong overall now.
No idea on balance
But academy looks weak though, no solution against haven so far. Can't think of it. Maybe more level 3s ?

Or I could return the 2 kshatras..

Edit: I know that Attila is back and would play his game yesterday but something happened. What's with Tann and Edwin? Deadline ends tomorrow people - unless you had some serious reason that prevented you from playing. Tann had some tests I recall but have you contacted Edwin, arranged the games? Others are waiting for you to finish.

Attila will start work tomorrow and will be gone for 4 days so if Selu doesn't appear today he will have to resign. Hope Selu sees this in time..

SeLu wins Attila 2-1 He will be making a post in the morning.

Last remaining pair is Edwin vs Tann. Since the time zones are difficult I give 3 more days to finish. If you believe that you cannot arrange a game within the deadline I have a suggestion. One of you challenges me, if he wins he passes, if not his opponent does.

Edwin?

I played vs Attila yesterday.

It ended 2-1 in my favour.

He began beating me with his insane orcs attack (hero was 25). I got Dungeon, and Defensive didnt appear, even in the mentor. So, its a pity when the executioners came close to my lines and killed the 8 red dragons in the first movement. That was the moment to click in the white flag, but we continued playing
His build was pretty good, I think, but not mine. He played very well and he simply destroyed me, i had nothing to do against his lucky shots.

On the second one I got inferno against Dungeon. One of the closest fights Ive ever played, he could have won if he decided to kill the originals instead of the summoned, but i think he was confused by the number of pit lords and pit spawns in battle.

On third one, I played Dungeon against his Necropolis. He had destructive and Dark, but my destructive spells were so powerful (even with the objects he had, cloak of sylanna...) and I went to offensive and defensive, so, some of the creatures did high damage, and that was the difference, I think.

Indeed but you should have also chosen Horned Grunts which would have been a lot better than Overseers

Great games, was enjoyable to watch

On dungeon vs stronghold I'm curious, was it possible to leave the furies there after the attack and block executioners from advancing? not very clear from the replay. Also I'm curious how many cyclopes the charging raiders could kill. Stalkers I would probably try to keep hidden just in case and attacking paokai with adjacent units is a bi no-no. In retaliation they don't divide their damage..

Was a bit surprised how a mass confusion helped you do much vs dungeon, I tend to spend my hero turns with mass haste, frenzy, maybe motd. Attila should not have tried cleansing, was too risky. Anyway he had way too low spellpower so he was in a tough spot.

In the last I would have avoided circle on my blackies, you can never be too sure Nice build, it helped that your units acted before Kaspar - normally I am afraid to take attack for fear of them puppeting my units and scoring a good hit. The necros fell easily and being on the defensive they soon had to start raising which was game over.

Clay_Man vs Arcax
0 - 2

1st Round
Haven - Fortress
Haven-Fortress

Runic, flaming quadruple shooting ballista and great Rune of Battle Rage saved the day.

2nd Round
Dungeon - Necropolis

Dungeon - Necropolis

I'd never imagine that Clay will ran out of mana so fast...

Arcax beat me 2-0 easily

First was my haven vs dwarves, well I had to pay like 15k to mentor to get power of speed, my skilling was awful except that i had enlightenment so my stats were pretty high. He had good arties, skilling, and spells so he beat me easily.

2nd game was an interesting dungeon (me) vs necro, where i ran out of mana after casting some MASSIVE spells , so winning with motn was just a matter of time. Very close battle, though, 1 mana reduction skill or 1 more point of knowledge would've win me the game.

GL HF for remaining contenders!

Arcax you little punk, acted all dramatic and stuff! Well played

First match is the typical runic machine abuse. Arcax planned his moves well, haven can brutally slaughter you first turn yet he managed to get the initiative and push back. Clayman did a good move with the archers by blessing and resurrecting to take out the ballista but the damage had been done. Not even his good assortment of light spells could turn that game around.

What was truly impressive was the necro fight. The worst weapon against dungeon is their grim raiders and a swift puppet did the trick. But apart from that necro managed to control the flow of the game even with those massive meteors nuking everything that moved. Makes me think that after you see arcane armour you should aim for the next high hp target before it becomes armoured next.

And today's lesson is... Implosion sucks, uses too much mana for its effect, especially compared to Deep Freeze.

In the other one I don't understand why Haven didn't cast Deflect Missile first turn to weaken the ballista faster, and also why try to destroy the ballista when it was weakened a lot by Deflect Missile?

There was no hope to bring down all those dwarves with haven's remaining forces, Arcax could always stay back and wait.

Don't induce people into error Elvin... War Machines, be it Runic or whatever, is a mediocre skill, and it was not the key element in winning the battle. Apart from the mistakes that Clayman made( not ressurecting Crossbows with archangels on first turn, was the greatest), the winning factor were the super runes, the champion hit that didn't kill the whole stack, and allowed a painful ressurection, and the current map balance which makes dwarfs a little overpowered, compared to most races. If they get great rune combo on top of that, it's game over before you even start.

I am aware of that but it still played an important role. The moment your archers go down and the ballista also hits champions haven is weakened enough for the runes to overpower them. If haven charges first possibly with luck the battle looks a lot different. Anyways I have lost a game with quadruple flaming ballista vs haven, it's a matter of how much damage it can do before going down. And if the knight has deflect missile of course.

Yeah killing at the start of battle 81 Crossbowmans is surely mediocre.Im talking about ballista upgraded with Runic Machines,Flaming Arrows and Ring. A normal one isnt so great ofc. And yes, ballista wasnt the key element of battle... I just couldnt resist not taking W/M when I saw Ring of Machine Affinity and I wanted to try sth new, apart from my previous defensive builds.
