Bah!  I give the game a 4/10.  Yes, the graphics were nice and maybe also the sound.  After that:  The boss fights were no different from each other or even from the regular creatures.  In Warrior Within a boss fight was a very different event from normal fights with grunts.  The character voices were annoying to me.  The 'dialogue' was nutty but not funny.  And I didn't think the ending made sense.  Or rather it did until the 'twist'.  So bah!

You should be able to find Sands of Time cheap cheap Elvin.  Go!

Actually the ending makes more sense than you think. It mirrors the decision of the mourning king and thus sheds some light into his morality. He was a broken man yes.. Weak, yet he wasn't the uncaring snow that the game implied early on. In some ways he wasn't much different from you, you both loved Elika and could see the big picture. That it would not matter in the long run without any Ahura left to keep vigil, be it now, in a century or a millennium. When the game begins he is bound by his debt to Ahriman, a honourable man twisted into servitude.

The boss fights indeed got old after a while, bosses including. Anyway as you can probably tell I liked more the feel of the game than its actual execution, it had a lot more promise than it delivered. Still I cannot complain much.

Btw there was an Epilogue dlc that was not released for pc and ubi actually charged for it. Lame.

Following sands of time I have recently started warrior within and I'm loving it. Besides a few things that is.

This game could have been awesome as an independent one but kinda fails as prince of Persia, Ubi tried to fully commercialize it by making it dark, gory, adding girls with revealing outfits and heavy metal. Even the prince looks a completely different character, always on edge, pissy, cocky - he's like I'm too awesome/why do you even try/I'm getting tired of this and stuff all the time which is annoying. Not that 7 years of being hunted by a demon doesn't change you but simply edgy and constantly alert would suffice.

Then there's the storyline, mind you I'm still early in the game but some things make my eyes roll. So the sands of time were created on the island of time by the empress of time And it so happens that the time portals you find lead directly to the past just before the sands of time were created? That's kinda.. convenient, I'm hoping to see more intelligent storyline ahead.

On to the good parts. Gameplay has been improved with sweet combos and free style fighting with one or two blades, a refreshing change compared to the dull sands of time combat. So far it looks like they kept the classic platforming elements and added more encounters but thankfully enemies don't respawn like crazy nor do you have to get more sands through a finishing move. Also.. I have the feeling that the rewind action has been limited, so far I never seem to have more than a few tries for risky jumps.

Besides the music the dahaka stuff is kinda annoying.  Still the gameplay was pretty good.

Hey there is a new version out.  Anyone picked it up?

I'll consider it, now I started the series I'm pretty hooked up But the two thrones come first.

I take back what I said about the portals being convenient, a cutscene clears up that issue and it's actually pretty reasonable. And I still believe that the game is awesome - including the Dahaka sequences which I personally enjoyed - but after you transform into the sand wraith you encounter a lot of frustration and pissiness getting to your final destination. No wonder the prince is so edgy, winding your way through all those corridors can drive you mad! Not that sand regeneration isn't fun but a few shortcuts would be nice.. Felt like they needlessly prolonged the game without offering much in compensation.

Now about the ending..

SPOILERS!

I got the good ending which felt like.. a teenager's wishful thinking. It was good alright - finding the super duper ultimate sword(because you acquired all life upgrades) which happens to be the only thing that can harm the Dahaka, slaying said demon who symbolizes the embodiment of destiny's inevitability and banging the hottie main antagonist instead of killing her a second time. Call me a pessimist but it's too good to be true. And I liked the Dahaka as an unstoppable power carrying fate's decree like an executioner's axe. Killing him with a shiny sword..?

The normal ending appealed more to me. Unfortunately Kaileena dies but it makes more sense that way.

oops.

Ubisoft requires that all of their PC games need an "always-on" internet connection, as part of a new DRM and online services platform.   All announced Ubisoft PC games will include the online services, whether sold online, or from brick and mortar stores.
If you get disconnected while playing, you're booted out of the game. All your progress since the last checkpoint or save game is lost, and your only options are to quit to Windows or wait until you're reconnected.  This happens even if the game  loses its connection to Ubisoft's 'Master servers' on their end.

The two thrones has been completed as well. If you ask me I enjoyed it the best out of them all, it keeps a coherent theme, wraps up the sands of time storyline, improved the gameplay, added stealth. The dark prince dialogues were amusing and I liked the voice acting, chariot sequences were awesome, integration of timed sneak attacks on bosses spiced things up, the setting looked great. There were of course a few parts that I was at a loss what the heck I was supposed to do - see the two sandmonster bosses with axe and sword..

What I disliked. Voice actress of Kaileena was bored out of her mind and her constant lazy murmuring in the main menu got on my nerves, Farah sounded too.. American, some graphic glitches and warrior within bugs that remained, the fact that the dark prince could own everything with chain spam was lame. Also considering its tone the game fails to use its dramatic effect. Like the dark prince would say boohoo prince!

Hmm... didn't play two thrones past the first level.  Should I revisit it then?  As long as the parkour is good I don't care so much about the rest.  Is that the one I avoided because of starforce? I think I was playing it on a console.

The game lacked a powerful entrance but it picks up nicely soon. Parkour is as good as always with some new options, also there are new traps.

Edit:

A glimpse of what the two thrones might have been. Kind of a shame, I liked a number of things in kindred blades. It also explains a few things about the two thrones.

Namely..

*SPOILERS*

Why Kaileena was so casually discarded and forgotten. At least in KB she still looks hot and even if she dies she does so in good fashion. I'll have to admit that I didn't care much for Farah's t2t incarnation, she is not quite the same girl. Sure she is bad@ss but that doesn't make her more interesting, definitely nowhere near Kaileena.

Farah shouldn't be badass! She's supposed to be a human girl that can take care of herself to some degree!
