I don't have problems with hitting the 20 post limit either, but some people do.

Then they should be fine too Seriously the whole deal was about making your posts count. If you waste them here and there for no particular reason then of course you have a problem. Or you are here too much in which case you need a break

I see your point, keksi, right now, it isn't so much fun for us, but I think it's the best way to cut out all the bad apples and that's what I love.
Admittedly, there are still bad apples around *cough* reign of terror *cough*, but the notion of quality control restrains them.

And now when Dagoth makes a big thread you'll say he's QP-hunting to get rid of 20 post limit.
I just can't understand some people. They say that the red stars are meant to encourage you to make quality posts, and then when you make them they tell you you're a QP hunter (I'm not talking to anyone in particular here! I know you (those from this thread) are not like that)

There is a world of difference between making qp posts and qp hunting. Believe me when I say that the latter is easy to detect. Yes it's a good think to gain a better rank but when the sole purpose of your posts is to gain one or God forbid you even ask for it openly then it becomes silly. The point is to improve the community, not accumulate shineys.

Doesn't that actually discourage posting and joining the fun when there will be a thought in the back of the memeber's head: "What if I need my post later?" 
That thought bugs me a bit sometimes though I haven't hit the 20 post limit even once.
What is a "wasted post"? One that causes "buyer's remorse" when you hit the 20 post limit? Thats bull's feeces!
What defines "too much"? I have a lot of free time to kill and I am doing so by troling around Heroes Community and I'll do so if I **** want to!  This forum is addicting!!! I have to go to rehab! House should too, bu he is going to jail! Grr!!! I Need scissors! Sixtyone!!!!!!1111

What's so hard about QPs then? Get some! 
You don't necesserily need to "hunt" them, pissing mods and other users in progress. You can do something useful to the community.
Like analyzing certain aspects of the game. I enjoy doing it and that's where I got most of my QPs.
I like to compare stuff and see what is stronger. Some people can make good use of it later, too.
Why don't you try?

But I agree the 20 post limit was very annoying for someone like me who wanted to participate in almost all of the sub-forums though... IMO there should be a limit per sub-forum, because 20 is a little low if you want to participate in discussions in all sub-forums

I don't think I should start making big and contributive posts so I could get QPs, but because I was inspired to do so and you are basically telling me to go and get myself a bunch of QPs. Is that not the act of QP hunting to contribute just to get some QPs?
Now that you have told me this I will be accused of QP hunting if I make a contributive post so thanks alot . Besides I'm not really interested in starting to encyclopedialize HoM&M.
I think that QPs should be just for show and the 20 post limit should be removed or at least loosened up a bit just for user convienience.
Edit: P.S. Also I think that everything has been done already (since this is kind of an old forum) and the bar is set up pretty high and I lack inspiration.

The orange starts would be just pointless and complicate things.
If it really bothers you so much why not suggest something like:
"A QP once per month for someone who has earned it"-thread or something?
Would be much simpler and easier to do.

QPs are a funny creature. A fair amount of the time, a lot of people really strive for quality and it's ignored. Therefore, the incentive to make another attempt is quashed, so people are stuck never getting any. The subjective nature of QP awards also makes things tricky, often leaving individuals wondering how someone else's post can get one yet theirs did not.
