You're right Asheera, I don't want this. What is at HC right now is fine, and the Orange star system that you suggested is basically the same as we already have now. What would be the point?

@broadstrong yes it is an great idea. At least the members will know that they are making progres, something that is usefull or this is the direction that the mods want to HC, discusscion should be going.

But when it comes to changes it is hard to convince the old members to new point of view.

It is in human nature that the more longer we live in one environment we get used to it, and have more and more negative mood for changes, Because changes need some work and time, and with age people get lazy, change something that we get use to it with time.

The truth is that with time changes must come or else....

Doesn't people get to know this anyway, you know, by peoples' comments? It's not just the mods' opinions that matters...

If you get positive replies, and develop the thread/idea/whatever, qps shouldn't be too far away.

Bah, you can get a moderator's good word without some orange star.

And, afaik, mods often give some sort of hint that a qp isn't far away... like "I'll keep an eye on this thread", or "keep up the good work"...

Lol, sounds like I'm the Qp-hunter Guru or something...

Orange stars should be for messuring overall good but not impressive performance of member and for mods to remember the good things that the one have done. The small thing even valuable to HC tend to be forgotten.

We should totally have purple stars for bad@ss members

Bah...

Then it would be like saying: "You're pretty good, but not enough..."

Lol, imagine having 200 of those orange stars and no red ones... after all, single average posts in different threads will hardly grant you a qp, good discussions, new ideas etc is the trick...

I still say a simple comment from a mod could completely replace this orange thingy...

But then again, I might be wrong... my knowledge is limited since I'm still pretty new... (or at least I feel that way )

And if it's just for the mods to remember, let's get them a notebook instead

I'm just wondering, what exactly is wrong with the red stars now that would spawn an idea such as orange stars? I know I have a lot of ideas that have to do with the red stars, but I wouldn't think that making another set of stars might actually help. I may have said it in the past but I guess I have changed my mind since then (Not sure if I have made any suggestions about more stars but meh). It's just that in the end, would it really be worth it? I mean, this is a forum where people come to discuss things. Red stars are just a little bonus if you make posts. The main idea behind a forum isn't for the post count or for any bonuses, it's for the posts and what they mean. I think this forum would work just as well if there was no QP system at all, but I think what there is right now is good. I know I have already disagreed with the idea once but I just feel I need to say it again.

By the way, is it any coincidence that many of the members with no QP stars at all try to make up ideas about alternative QP systems or another star system that might be a little bit easier to get than the current one now? I know I used to be a bit like that but come on. It's just a forum after all.

I say we need something like this, only not quite. We should have member-awarded "awesome awards" for making a lolworthy or otherwise awesome post that is cool or funny, but isn't QP-worthy.

Well isn't that what we have already with the Peanuts? Why should another kind of reward be given to someone for making a funny post that might include a picture that isn't even theirs? I mean, I have seen QP's given to posts that are funny because they wrote it all themselves (there have been some cases where people have copied and pasted but that was long ago) but another reward system just to give to lolworthy posts just wouldn't be good in my opinion.

The problem with peanuts is that they're not integrated into HC.

The whole case is about people wanting others to caress their ears with soothing words. Please. You don't need an award for being good nor an official indication that you are doing fine, just be yourself and have a positive outlook.
