Drop reservations after a postless year.
People who don't post for a whole year should in my opinion drop their reservations to avatars. An avatar with MY user name is reserved by someone who came around for a month and is gone. There are tons of reserved avatars reserved, that I never see, because they never post.
I don't really care much, it may sound that I do, I just want my avatar and don't think its right someone who is probably never coming back can gank it like that.

Actually, this is a good idea. I haven't had that problem as of yet, but I think it could benefit some members who do want their avatars not to be used by anyone else who haven't posted in a while.

I agree. I've seen Val unreserving a few avatars of inactive members on request once, but I really think it should become a yearly proccess.

Good suggestion
I even think that the avatar reservation dropping can be done, say, 9 months of inactivity, to sort of "give an advanced notice" that 1 year is almost up and further inactivity = account deleted.

Great idea.
I think a user should be able to reserve more than one avatar (but only if the avatar was uploaded specially for him/her). For example, if Ash decides to change her avvie next year, she could keep the old (the one she's having now) and the new one. Ofc, she can chose wheter she wants to keep any of them reserved.

But I think it's hard to implement, because I don't think the custom avvies are "special" (I think they're regarded as normal avvies). I could be wrong though.

I once wanted Val to unreserve an avatar but he refused and said that the poster had too much posts and he could do it eventually in a few years' time. Didn't matter the user was inactive.

I also doubt they're "special", but a link can be made between a user and and avvie, even if the person is not using it. At least I hope so.

Yea but what about avies that arent custom, and have not been used to post for 1-5 years, that are halfway decent avatars for the community? But the community cant use them because client B: reserved it before they made 10 last posts and left HC for good.
