My point really is that nobody wants to feel like they're 'just' anything, they want to feel like they are individuals with value - especially with the person you want to have a romantic relationship with.
If you start out with the attitude that they're all the same, or follow along a simple rule set, you're starting out on the wrong foot.
I don't mean that just for women, it goes for men too - I could say that MightyMage is just another white dude who thinks he's a delicious black dude - but what about that he's smart, funny, creative talented...that doesn't matter anymore because I've already categorized him? - Anti, do you just want to be seen as some rather chauvinistic at times gigolo type, or do you want people to see you as someone who is loyal to their friends, tries to help when someone is in trouble , very sensitive (sometimes  ) etc?.
I personally just think that if you're starting out thinking you know what someone is like, you're setting yourself up just to notice those things that you expect are coming - and you close your eyes to the things that make a person special.
You're better off trying to figure yourself out, because once you've got that settled you'll be able to find the right person for yourself.

Normally so am I but the bottomline is that if you find a way to crack a joke with it or answer in a way he/she will find satisfactory you save yourself from retorts and complaints  For the record I'm not sure what is considered satisfactory, never had to answer that.

Me too, I really hate when people tiptoe around me when I'm being an idiot (or look like one) too. I'd sooner get a little red in the face when it's called to my attention than have an evening of people giving me funny looks while I'm completely oblivious to the fact that my skirt is tucked into my g-string.
(not that it's ever happened to me or anything )

Women ARE complex! Boy, pushing them in certain categories will not help in the long run, methinks. Because I don't think you can fall in love with someone you think: "Ow, yeah, she's THAT type. Better do X, Y and Z and w00t." I suppose it can be fun having a good time and that is of course the purpose you have in mind, so I better shut up about this and hope you all have a good time

I didn't read the whole thread, only the first post which is already a little big () - I don't have much time now, with the PC problems and all...
You can't generalize like that and there's nothing really that 'special'. There's no general pattern, just that different women have different personalities and (dis)likes, like all people actually.
My suggestion is to be yourself, listen to what the woman says and not just think about where you'd like to go with her next (to a movie, etc)
Well that's all my advice I can give - the rest depends on the circumstances and some other factors (probably some skills or luck too)
