I want an RP with some collaboration
So ya. It seems like every thread, each writer is headed in a different direction.
In my mind the whole point of forum RPs is to have character interaction and collaboration.

Umm... Well I'd like to either start a new RP or I'd like to be pointed to an RP that does have some collaboration.
Or if anyone is involved in an RP and would like to collaborate, I would be willing to join that RP.

I see. What kind of collaboration are you looking for, specifically? (Short-term, long-term, battle tactics or character building, that sort of thing.)

I just feel like I'd be writing alone in most of these RPs, and I can do that by myself whenever I want.

I can’t help you much if you want to start a new RP as I don’t really have the time for another one, but right now I’m in the Pokemon RPG and the Battle Avatars RPG if you want to chat with me IC.  I will warn you in advance that I have a tendency to be a bit verbose.

I joined Gladerion because I found the posting to be quite interesting. I even joined finding myself to enjoy writing my new character. But to my dismay I found there to be absolutely no character interaction or collaboration.
I meant to update again, but I didn't feel the motivation. I could just as soon write that on my own.
Then I looked at Shattered and I saw the same thing happening.
I'd be glad to join any thread. Though I'd prefer to discuss any ideas on MSN or AIM if possible.

Yeah character interaction is needed otherwise it's just a bunch of people writing their own stories in the same setting.
And half the time people don't even read what they write unless there is some interaction to spur it.

You put one post into Gladerion, Sox. What your character did, was entirely on your own terms. If you wanted collaberation, you could have easily written yourself in near one of the others. Gladerion has always been more about individuals and their selfish desires anyways. They have teamed up before but only when there was a good reason. I'm not going to bring everyone together for some cheap reason.

Perhaps so, but wouldn't you think it would be more interesting to somehow incorporate you and another character into a story? For me, it would be much better than posting individual stories. It gets the players more involved with each other.

That's really not the point of Gladerion at the moment. We were together, got split up, and then I took it over. Currently I'm in no rush to bring everyone crashing back together.
Besides, there are plenty of other rpgs with collaberation going. As to Shattered, you have to be willing to give it a chance. It wouldn't make a whole lot of sense if all of these random strangers started working together.

well, the quest for the armamnets of God had collaboration, but it seems to have died (the RP, if it ever started again, there would still be collabotration) 
I tried to interact in another RP (BA) but I found it difficult, because every character has a huge back story that I can't even begin to comprehend... So I just decided to treat everyone as a hostile in it. It's what the game expects anyway.
the war of 5/8 is... also taking a nap...
reign of terror is... also lost, since it was partly abandoned
the wh40k RP also had collaboration, but it also stopped breathing for a while now...
I don't know how other ones are doing...
EDIT: shattered shows a little promise, but there are a few characters that are made only for fighting

The reason why I don't do forum RPs anymore is that at some point everyone seemingly thought "for all I know, the world could end tomorrow, and I don't want to die without having written a novel!" and started writing several-page posts that were practically impossible to interact with. The most extreme example I can think of is RSF's and Shadowcaster's megaretrospection in LHW about some conflicting love interests from kiddie years.
If there was something that didn't require an hour of catching up whenever someone posted, preferably with a simple (but not bland) setting, then I could see myself joining.

What? Shattered a lot? Maybe you should check out LHW after page 30 or something... Or some parts of war of 5/8... Nothing!
