I think it's more just that there's a massive jump between warrior and veteran. Veteran gets level 2 spells, and a ton of really good equipment.
Overall I think it's fair though. This makes me reconsider mages being far superior. I hadn't realized how much better equipments are for fighers then for mages.

But mages also have a huuuge advantage considering resistance. Fighters can be countered by defense and agility, while a mage with different spells can ignore defense or magic resistance as he chooses. Not to mention that agility has no effect whatsoever on mages "/

That's why I proposed adding a 'counterspell' combat ability. Where you can spend a round trying to counter a spell. During this time you have increased spell resistance, and have a chance to make the spell backfire.
Chance to counter the spell = resistance/spell power
After countering, they take damage based on how much mana was required for the spell.
The other issue, I can see is that energy orb of death is only 1 mana.
Anyway, I think I have to finish Lucky Dwarf.   I'm goin for the brain symbiote. Gimme that purple baby.
I can't wait until they revive you Lucky. That way I can kill you again.

Brain symbiote can cast spells. And it's bonuses are much better than any of the spirits.

Stat change. i don't know if any of the demiurges have noticed how overpowered attack's formula is right now so i'm switching back to a lower attack. not fair to other player imo.
-5 to attack and +5 to health

damn well then extra healing powers
il just attack my team mates and heal them by 3 points since i would have -3 to attack
and that means i must be ginormous for a dwarf since i got 17 health
but no ones complaining

The formula is gonna be changed soon, so that 1 defense removes 1 point of physical damage.

So after defense and spells are recalculated to be good, there will be some nice defensive builds that I think will be pretty viable. I'd also strongly recommend adding 'counterspell' as an additional weapon against mages.
Mage Killer
10 hp
4 attack
7 defense
1 initiative
1 spell power
7 resistance
1 mana
This build will work great against the one-shot builds like myself, so long as you can use counterspell. Since I only have 2 mana, and I can't one shot you, so long as you counter one of my spells, you lose. Essentially you'd have about a 70% chance to beat me. And if I start adding points to mana, then my spell power would go down, and I'd need to hit you 3 times.
It would also still work fairly well against a physical attacker, because you don't need agility to hit w/ your fortify. Remember that you'll get +1 attack for getting rage.

Wow, it seems that Carnage has it's life again. 
RSF, your ideas are pretty cool. Especially the counterspell, it's like fortify analog, but also nerf casters (Maybe rename it Magic Shield, hmm?).
And I also think that symbiote/spirit system need a bit balansing. Evasion, if you have problems with balanse, ask me and I'll try to help you.
