I apologize for being serious but there will never be something "worse" than the Holocaust. I don't say this because I'm half German or anything... it's just that there can't be anything worse on this planet than the industrialized killing of humans by humans. It doesn't get worse... it doesn't.

Yeah sorry for being serious there.

Hey Azagal this is OSM.  It is fine to be serious.

I guess one of those judges asked Susan Boyle out.  It wasn't the female judge though.  I can't make out if it is a publicity thing for the show or if it is for real.

Mrs. Boyle is one of those modern fairy tales our society so eagerly seeks. A 47 year old Cinderella who gets picked up by the prince among all the shallow beauties of the ballroom.

Its not only about her talent (which is evident). Its also about the fact that we, mere mortals sunken in annonimity, relate to her. She is ordinary, like ourselves, and she made it to the top.

If she is having a prosperous life from now on is anybody's guess, but I am quite convinced that the scene, when she blows everyone's minds off, will be around for a while. For it is not simply about music, its about reparation.

A mod probably moved it.  You know I do love the voice, but I feel that she won't get the chance she may deserve to go far.  Sadly she is no 'Britney' in looks.  The problem is, one has nothing to do with the other.  'Britney' can't carry a tune in a bucket and has no place singing (imo).  If you can call it singing..but I am going on a tangent..again.

I hope she does do well and go far, would increase my faith in humanity a lot, and believe me currently my faith in humanity is very small right now.

Watched the video. Lesson learnt. Never judge a book by it's cover. She might not have the looks but she has an amazing voice and that will get her far imo.

At first I thought everyone was making a fuss because she once was a man. But she's female right? So I don't really see the AMAZING and truely revolutionary part. So she's hasn't got a nice booty, big boobs or a good surgeon like most popstars but she has a great voice. What's the big deal? Of course she'll suceed if she has the talent (which she obviously has).

No wait... I guess I see the big "miracle". Maaahmahmahmah~~~ society is narrowminded indeed.

Thing is that music isn't just music anymore... just think of how many clothes/perfumes/whatever that has popstars' labels on them, I'm pretty damn sure that music companies have these things in mind.

You can't really imagine Boyle holding a perfume bottle saying "try my new collection" or something can ya?

Hopefully she can make a career singing in theaters or something.

Take a look at this:

Ruthie Henshall singing the same song

Now here is an established star of musicals singing the same song.  Quite frankly she is better.  She does things that Susan Boyle does not do and she's obviously very comfortable in the character.  You can understand that without knowing extra details like whether or not she has been kissed ever.

So why should Susan Boyle get a recording contract when others are more deserving on merit and experience?  Ruthie sells theater tickets, surely people would buy cd's of hers.

Instead we get this publicity machine about the 'sensation' of Susan Boyle and she has her 15 minutes of fame and hopefully makes some money out of it.  Good for her, but don't you feel like a lemming?

Susan Boyle = Epic Win.

She just owns man. The Look on Simon Cowell's face was simply priceless. What a voice. Pity she didn't apply sooner, she would have been a great opera singer. Ah well, it's her life anyway.

Now a biopic is being rumored.  I thought it was a joke at first but it seems to be serious?

Would you go see a movie about Susan Boyle where she is played by Meryl Streep?

Dudes, Susan Boyle is not going to be forgotten quickly. How long she's been famous? Two weeks?

She has hundreds of millions of fans now. Has there ever been as fast rise to fame?

It's hard to say ... stars come and stars go.

I think it'll work to her advantage that she's going to do a genre where looks doesn't mean a lot, and her rise from out of nowhere will probably also do her good.

I think the reason many of the winners from AI and BGT and the like fail to make a career is because you cane be the best singer in the world, but if you haven't got a good song to sing, nobody will care - and honestly, much of what these show winners have released has been pretty poorly written music - with possible exception of Leona Lewis and Kelly Clarkson, who has actually had some decent pop songs written for them, which then became hits - not so much because of who sang them, but simply because they were good songs.

So about Susan Boyle ... if she manages to make her niche in opera (remember that mobile seller guy?) or musicals, I think she can do well for herself, because these genres are less relying on new songs being written and becoming popular.
