Well, I don't understand why we don't start we the same save (day 1). Now we can be lucky to get a creature specialist or a machinist (day 1 or 8), which help a lot (and the creeping challenge becomes easier)... and neutral creatures are really random too.

Just any hero other than Inga will do. She's by far the worst Creeper in the game. Well, except maybe one of those Necro Dudes, like Orson or Vladimir.

I'm not sure I understand what Zenithale means. If we all have the same save the neutrals are the same for all?
And by the way, I'm not competing, I don't have the skills. I hope to learn from your replays a bit.

My replays till week 4. Time to chop some treants down!
I don't agree about same save, every game is different in some way. You can find ways to creep whatever happens which is kinda the point - and since phoenix specified that only Inga can be main your tavern heroes will not affect you much. Maybe you could get a free ballista but that's about it.

Judging by the number of downloads of Arcax's replays I'd say this thread is a success. Thank you also to Elvin and Ebbafan for participating. A strong showing from our dwarven loving group. 
Feel free to analyze the creeping but remember it's a lot easier to sling stones when you aren't participating.

It's more of a friendly challenge, games aren't fair anyway We can learn more things by seeing different beginnings, my build and strategies often change to suit my current predicament. It's not like the duel map where I know exactly what I want from the beginning.

I'm agreeing with Elvin here, different starts are more fun.
Arcax I watched your battle with the blue knight (I'm curious if everyone gets Haven in that [northern] position because I always do). Outleveled and outnumbered you won anyway.  Her constant sorrow spell wasn't too effective.

Blue hero in sight, month 2 week 2. Let's see what happens.
Edit: My bad was teal. Easily sent him fleeing, no casualties. Hope I can find his town soon.
Edit2: I finished, captured teal's town month2 week 2 day 7 and defeated his main 2 days earlier. Guess that was too late but could not get past lots of treants before week 5. Also I wasted a lot of time by going to the hill fort and chaining next week's units there before moving to enemy territory. Now that I know how the map plays out i could probably finish it a lot sooner.

Here my try: REPLAYS
Strange build for me: I recruit Lethos week 1 to learn Decay (Erudition). Inga learns Dark magic during week 2, but no mass spell...
No creature specialist or machinist in the tavern before week 4, where I recruit Ingvar.
Day 22 I attack a big army of 24 Pit Spawns to reach an enemy territory. It was a hard fight even with very good obstacles.
Week 4 day 4 I'm in front of a Necro castle. Week 4 day 5 the game was finished.

Bravo Zenithale! Probably the fastest time and also an unusual build. I go to watch the replays now.
I was surprised that even on heroic the enemy castle was not built up at all. Is that usual?

The castle was level 19. But I think it was the blue player castle, which was captured by purple.
What a shame I didn't fight versus a hero+army...

wow at zenithale...i didn't get an army anywhere near to as big as yours or even a hero as high level as yours, and i played an extra week+!
my experience was much more similar to elvin's(ancient treants, djinn viziers, hunters), although i couldn't capture the hill fort(no rune of charge until way too late, and very low number of shooters)
well done, i think except under very ideal circumstances, you will most likely be the fastest!(i do think early week 4 is possible though)

Well yes, based on what I had if I can't face any more creeps in my area the alternative is suicide. I suppose it could have been possible if I could break battleragers faster for the crystal mine allowing me to build thanes, those and regeneration might have pulled it off. I have started another game that is going faster, this time I got lots of griffins on the way. Not sure if I can take them week 2, a more realistic approach would be week 3.
This time I skipped spears to go for blackbear creeping as I usually do. Good thing with Inga is that if you build mage guild 2 she doesn't have to reach the town, a secondary will teach her the spells automatically.

I built Tiers 1, 2 and 4 during the first week, then Tiers 3 during the second and played only with this low levels creatures.
I had only a mage guild level 1, runic guild level 1 and citadel.

Yes, maybe even (end of) week 3. That depends on the neutral creatures, my 24 Pit spawns were not easy...
