I'm kind of impressed with how they reimagined it. Probably won't be something I see in theaters but it doesn't look bad.

Perfect. Watched the first one a few days back and it was damn fun 
I also watched furious 7 and man, it was hilariously insane  It has some epic stunts and they even got Tony Jaa and Ronda Rousey! Russel was fun and Statham delivered. The Rock didn't have a big role but he made up for it, especially in the end. Touching ending, Paul Walker was such a loss 
Well recommended if you like over the top action.

So this is the direction they're going? I wasn't quite paying attention to the various gossips, I only knew about the remake, but seriously outcast teenagers? This is even cheesier then the original Power Rangers...

I like the whole Breakfast club sorta thing they got going on with the darker tone. I don't like how they seem to become super heroes which defeats the purpose of the suits but maybe not? My love for Power rangers only goes as far as the first season and movie. What got my attention was when Bryan Cranston signed on after reading the script so something about it changed his mind about the part. I don't think it's gonna be huge but I am curious about it.

So, Independence Day - Resurgence:
You know how there are passable sequels to great movies, well, this is one step below, it's a horrible sequel to a passable movie. The script is moronic, the characters are shallow, the once again used formulas from the first movie are blatant and repetitive, this time to zero effect, even the CGI is so and so. Avoid.
The Infiltrator:
This one's actually okay but having to watch it after Narcos season 2, it really didnt do it for me. Not so original undercover cop movie with typical tensions, are they going to make him, wife and family is alienated, he develops a bond to the mobsters etc. Certainly no Donnie Brasco though.
Cafe Society:
Not one of Woody Allen's best but certainly not one of his worst either. It's a period piece and if you like 1930's, that atmosphere is pretty authentic. Also, it has a genuine melancholy.
Free State of Jones:
American Civil War Era drama with good character development and interesting story but nothing extraordinarly captivating. If five years from now, I see it on TV, I'd give it another go but that's about it, not really memorable.
Ghostbusters:
Not as awful as most people claim but certainly not as fun as the original either. The chemistry between the characters are adequate but the jokes dont stand out all of the time and the new "improved effects" somehow dont blend in with the light-hearted spirit of the merchandise. They also butchered that lovely Ghostbusters song, new version just sucks.

Watched Sully, Deepwater Horizon, and The Revenant. All great movies, except I think I need to rewatch Deepwater Horizon because there was a lot of conversation happening and I couldn't follow all of it in the theater.

I can already tell it will suck, at least in my opinion. I hate video game-esque movies: people jumping twice as high as what a highly athletic person can do in real life, etc. I just want normal human beings in my movies instead of people that inject space buffalo testerone into their neck. The original Mortal Kombat did a good job at this, minus the obvious special moves, like Lu Kang train kicking Reptile in the air 20 times.
I just contradicted myself. I don't know. The trailer just looks ghey.

I have the utmost respect for space buffalo: they are a cordial and hospitable people and make some of the most delicious tuna casserole. I just don't want human actors having buffalo ball juice in their bloodstreams.

Another AC trailer. I don't think that kind of music suits that movie. Honestly, I don't think the movie will do well, just like Warcraft did for some people.
