Does "concerts" only include those where everyone screams and the volume is so high that you'll leave with a headache, damage to ear, or the ground shaking? If so, I'm out.

I can't understand anyone who would pay money to damage themselves or listen to screams. Really, I can't. (I wouldn't listen to screams even if it was free)

Sometimes you like the bands, death
Some of them are idols after all.
And some people love the atmosphere (not me though)

yeah is about the atmosphere... is something powerfull about that... the people singing alone with strangers... everyone jumping at the rythum of the songs, for most rock concerts is more important the energy than the music itself... of course on this noisy concerts are tunes that you like to listen to, more than just sing or jump...

Apparently you have never been to a CDB concert TheDeath.  Of course since he is considered 'country' that may be why.  Non-Metal concerts are a bit more ... subdued.  Heck my ears didn't even hurt after the concerts I went to.  Even NKOTB were half decent at least (at the time ).

Are you for real?
Have some money, buy yourself a youth...

Been to Santana three days ago, forgot to post it here...
Oh man, I enjoyed every second. Less of the spectacular visuals and hard rock atmosphere than AC/DC (also the majority of visitors were over 40), but more improvisation, and even more... how can I say it, soul
Perfect.

The list of people to see before I die grows smaller ^^

Come on Bak, you should know by now that TheDeath bases most of what he says on what other people say but never on his own experiences (cos he doesn't try them).

I haven't been to any concerts but my mum has been to a few, one of them being a Lionel Richie concert.

best concerts...hard to rate...but probably, you wouldn't know the bands at all, cause it are mainly midsized german bands, but who cares ^^

One of my favouirite live bands certainly is the German Gothic Rock band ASP, anone heard 'bout it? (I doubt it^^)

Regarding international bands I, for instance, saw Hamerfall but that wasn't too outstanding (not for the band, who were in fact great, but the people were so motionless...I can'T stand that, I got to MOVE when at a concert)

...and a short time ago I saw VNVNation on the Blackfield festival in gelsenkirchen and  was positively surprised. they were really good, in fact I'd been really flashed by some songs

What's a CDB concert?
No I've only seen those on TV and even there it was too loud. (of course I took the volume down)
I prefer symphonies, halls or orchestras, cause there people are civilized and actually stay quiet to listen to the music.

Of course it's better to spend your youth creatively by thinking up how to include Hitler in the next argument against MVass and JJ, but I think you should try spending a bit of cash and two hours of your life and go to a concert just to see how it is (and yes I know the next thing you'll say is "I never tried Hitler either but I know he's bad"). You might think differently after you've experienced one (concert, not Hitler) ; no one's recommending Slipknot, but one like Santana's would surprise you pleasantly. Even if you'd post a negative review here afterwards just to disagree with me ^^

I prefer reason over experience. You know I kinda prefer to keep my hearing and sanity intact for a stable period of my life. For the same reason I don't take drugs (I don't have to experience them to know their potential, that's all; nothing about addiction in this analogy mind you, as I'm sure you'll pick on it).

Not to mention I can spend my money a lot better, since I'm not particularly rich either.

And you know, at least thinking about Hitler and whatever, trains your brain... sort of a "gym" for your brain. Don't use it, lose it.

Getting predictable there, Deathy...

Quote by meself: "and yes I know the next thing you'll say is "I never tried Hitler either but I know he's bad" "

It was supposed to say "drugs" but I replaced it with "Hitler" for the laughs.

It's ok. No one's making you go anywhere. I just hope to God you'll be one hell of an epic scientist one day to justify your... distinctiveness.
After all, it'd be a shame to see all that mindpower you preserved all these years go to waste.

Look at it from the brighter side. One day when we're all 80, senile, living on soups and unable to get a boner, while we're listing through our ancient photo albums and boring our grandkids to death with stories of our wild youths, you'll have a blond top-model pushing your wheelchair to the Nobel Prize Award Ceremony.

Of course, I didn't say I will live forever. However, if I lose my good hearing at 50, it is a lot worse for me than losing it at 60, if you get what I mean. Basically, this also applies to me being sober. If I become senile at 90 it's a lot better for me than 70 or 80.

BTW I have to admit I didn't get your Hitler reference before, sorry

Plus I cannot even find how such a thing that is bad for your health can be enjoyable... I mean really. I prefer civilized environments instead

CDB = Charlie Daniels Band.  There is no loud music, unless maybe you are sitting 2' in front of the speakers..then you get what you deserve.  You want LOUD music go to a KISS or Pantera concert

Basically, try something for yourself before dismissing it. That's what I think. I haven't been to a concert for any big bands (I have been to some battle of the bands thing but that was because I was doing work experience with setting up the sound) but I'm definitely willing to try to go to one just to say that I have been to one.

Not all concerts needs to be all screams.

I was at a concert recently with a danish rock band called Choir Of Young Believers, and they did a concert in the radio concert hall with the danish radio symphonic orchestra. It was absolutely amazing. During numbers, apart from music, you would have heard a pin drop, and when each number stopped, there was a 10 second pause where everybody were completely silent because they were almost in awe, and then applause started. It was truely magnificent.
