Erepublik

My current addiction is called Erepublik. It's a gigantic game of Risk with a complex economic system and politics, where each citizen tries to support his or her country. Players can become soldiers, business owners, newspaper editors or politicians. I would say that half of the action is outside the game itself, on message boards and wikis. Playing an anonymous pawn in a large community is a refreshing change, strangely, from the usual build-a-hero-and-conquer-the-world, even if it might be possible (but very difficult) to do that in Erepublik:

www.erepublik.com

If you'd like to give it a try, send me an email (angelspit-at-celestialheavens.com). As you may guess, I will get an in-game referral bonus, but only when you reach level 6 -- but if you make it that far (and I'll certainly help you do so with tips and gifts), I'll share that bonus with you. The early game can be quite tough without some assistance.

I joined in the flemish region. Level two already. I think I'll contact lex, because I think it's a pity that we reverted back to the united Netherlands

Though, I'm sure it'll take a while before I can vote or create a resistance force, I'll put a lot of effort in that.

I'm level 5 now, and just started fighting.

How long until we can vote anyway?

Food will increase your wellness based on quality: 1 point for Q1, 2 points for Q2, etc. A house will also help you recover, later on.

But the best way to heal is to fight. Once you fight, you are allowed to visit the hospital once a day. Again, the bonus depends on the quality of the hospital: 10 points for Q1, 20 points for Q2, and so on.

Until you are ready to fight, make sure your wellness remains above 40. Stick to a Q1 job, buy Q2 food as needed, skip training sessions if your wellness gets close to 40

Hope this helps.

I tried to check up my country's legislation and some of there voting proposals are:

"transfer 10000 NLG from the country accounts to DNB"

NLG is a currency, is DNB as well?

There's also this:
"73 GBP from the country accounts to ministerie van Grondstoffen"

GBP is also currency (great british pund?) and ministerie van gronstoffen is the ministery of resources.

It could be a company name, an organization, someone's nickname... It's hard to get familiar with the dozens of acronyms in this game.

Also, is there a way, I can see what a political party stands for other than by the name? Because the leading party in the united netherlands is called "the libertarian social democrats". Which to my ears is quite oxymoronic. There's also the belgian party, of which I don't even know what they stand for. The independence of Belgium?

Click the party name. This'll take you to a page with details such as the nuber of members, name of the leader and stuff like that. You'll find what you need there.

Well, this is the only thing I found on the social libertarian democrats:
Orientation: Center-left, Libertarian

Which doesn't really help me knowing their agenda, of course.
So with the others: I can only see their members, presence in the political facilities and orientation. I think that's all. I suppose I'll have to do it the hard way and look up their press releases.

Find your national forum:

http://www.myerepublik.com/national-forums-of-erepublik/

Browse the political discussions, learn about the various candidates, understand that real-life values might be meaningless in the game and vice-versa. Don't be afraid to contact the candidate directly, he'll love the attention.

I thought so, since my country is quite low populated. Thanks, by the way. there only one presidential candidate that publidshed a news paper recently, anyway, so my vote would be on him.

If you're level 2, you'll have plenty of time to change your mind.

Amidst this kind of identity crisis Canada is suffering from, I sure wouldn't know who to support.

For Example:

In Erepublik I'm Christian Doe, a cross between John Doe and my real first name. My forum nickname just didn't belong in there.
