Then why mention it?

where you can actually cut a tree into 100 pieces one by one, you can actually use almost everything you see in the screen in a way that only who have played the game know...
I didn't know cutting trees was so fun, do you seriously find it fun or "just for the heck of it" or "awesome" or for awe or something?

Kinda reminds me of people zooming in on the ground looking at the texture (detail). LOL!!!

Actually about the "cutting trees thing": It isn't fun, but it gives you feeling of somekinda Rambo war lookalike mass destruction.. So its a good thing when they make games where you can either use or destroy everything you can see

there was red faction, but I mostly used the ability in multiplayer.
in story mode, I tried to dig a tunnel once to skip most of the level, because it was goddamn hard (crossing the canyon with the jeep in impossible mode) but I didn't have enough ammo. finally I beat the level without the jeep.

there is that kind of things in fc2 too. except it is useless.
in another hand, the fire forces the enemies to leave their hideouts, which isn't bad.

oh, and speaking about destruction, there is "black" too. now, they were really spectacular in this game. but you couldn't destroy everything. some stuffs were scripted to be destroyable (usually buildings near explosives stuffs)

It's weird how no game has surpassed Crysis' graphics yet... it's been pretty long now.

I blame the consoles' popularity. They're locked to their hardware while the PC is constantly evolving.

Ofcourse, the 360 and PS3 does have a lot of potential, just look at the old PS2 and see the difference in graphics between the first games released to it and the last ones (God of War 2 for example)

It's still nowhere close to how fast the PC should be developing though.

Oh and I got Dead Space yesterday, awesome and scary as hell imo. Ripper ftw.

god of war 2 is the most beautiful game I have on my PS2. moreover it looks epic.

I think they said "black" has the best graphics on PS2 (don't know if it's still true) but I prefer gow2.
actually, they say best graphics for a FPS, about black.

there's shadow of the colossus which have stunning graphics too.

and I liked how the environments in MGS3 looked alive.

You should blame the development effort for little gain instead

Believe it or not, apart from people who fall to marketing, no one really cares that much about improved graphics when they play the game, and the effort put into it is too huge to accomodate little gain.

Hmm... did you play with the room completely dark and the sound extremly high? The horror in this game lies in the sound.

I miss the creepy unpleasant feeling from FEAR 1 and especially the ghost areas from FEAR 2..

Dead Space's main problem imo is that once you've got your Force Gun or other über-weapons you simply feel so badass that you're not really scared anymore. They should've kept the weapons less powerful but still interesting and ammo should've been more scarce.

Also, after a while you learn to seperate the sounds that are just ambience and the ones that are actually from Necromorphs. Needless to say though, the early parts really shine cuz you have no idea if that sound of metal from the roof is a Necromorph or just some rocks smashing against the ship's hull. I was so scared...

Still, those regenerating snows makes me panic every time I meet them, regardless of wether I have my Force Gun, and the game keeps locking me up in a room with them, ARGH!

I'm on chapter 10 now btw, no spoilers.

PS: Force Gun ftw, totally overpowered though. Lots of ammo and knockback.
