probably you don't perfect understand how RTMG works.

RMG ingame only makes FFA maps.

once you have generated the map in RTMG, it ready to play.

when you are in the RTMG AdvMap tab, that means your map is already been generated by RMG ingame.

look the manual.

ALSO: you cannot add more players in the map than the map contains of. if in the begining your map has 2 players, then that makes nothing to set team for 3th and 4th players.....because the map has only two players. RTMG doesn't add players. set the map with 4 players before to use the RTMG generation.

Thank you very much. I now understand how it works. I've successfully created maps with teams. I sent the map to a friend of mine to play multiplayer, but this showed up:
We played multi no problem before I sent him the map. Any ideas why and how to fix it?

just_godlike,

I would like you read better the manual.

this problem is really easy to fix....
look the last page "RTMG on LAN"

this problem is not even a RTMG bug, anybody can have it without the RTMG...

that's happening when the both players have not exactly same file in data and UserMODs folders....

probably too you have sent the map to your friend but not the RTMG.pak file.

NOTE: that will be possible to integrate RTMG.pak directly in the map with the next release of RTMG soon.

I've seen one post with this issue in the subject, so I guess it's not that common.

I really love the idea of what RTMG does, and on the two maps it's actually worked properly on it's been great. However, it's recently (as of today) just started spewing out 0kb maps when it's done doing its thing. I've no idea why it's doing this, and it makes it even stranger because it actually worked like it should before.

No files, to the best of my knowledge, have changed. The only thing that happened today was that for the first time, RTMG threw an error when working on a map. It was in French, though, so I have no idea what on earth it was saying. After that it started saving corrupted (0kb value) maps.

Any idea what would cause it to just kinda break like that?

Hi,

the next release could fix that. a cleanup of RTMG temporary files/folders may be done.
meanwhile, I think restarting RTMG will fix the problem.

if that is hopeless, just reinstall.

I've both restarted and reinstalled twice now to no avail. Here's to hoping for the next release, I guess.

Thanks for the fast response!

Actually, it works randomly, sometimes after a fresh reinstall (never after a restart). So far it's worked at those times about 2/10 times. Where are the temp working files you said to delete?

you can uninstall...and directly deleting RTMG root folder...

after, you can reinstall and take note about all subfolders...
then after using RTMG you will be able to know what folders/files  that will appear. all of them are temporary.

also, be sure to quit H5 before to give the map to generate by RTMG.

Hi,

a new release of RTMG available.

the major modification is allowing to set the content of RTMG.pak file
and being able to include it directly into generated maps. (each map has its own RTMG settings)

with setting the content, it's possible do not generate the text files into RTMG.pak or any others files
and then conserves the gameplay or language from the original game or from another MOD.

like for the description, the RTMG settings allows now to change or give to the map a name.

also, some minor bugs are fixed.

I added more links about MODs in the Others Downloads part of master post.

Run TIme Error 75

Greeting just downloaded the new update and was attempting to make a map.
Everything works fine generating the template, and then use H5 to make map.
After I go back to generate the RMTg map it works thru processing and and then says saving and I get a run time error 75. The map size is then 0kb and no longer useable. I haved tried uninstalling re-installing.

I am using the RPE mod as well.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

this bug has been reported several times.

but I'm not able to recreate the bug in my computer and so be able to fix it.
I never got this bug during my own use.

moreover, the majority of users doesn't get it anymore.

run time error 75 meaning path/file access error.

RTMG wants compress the generated map from its ScanMap subfolder to make the h5m file.
but it doesn't able to make it.

then it copies the map to Maps folder of the game, but because the h5m file was not created so
this makes a 0kb file.

the question is: why RTMG isn't able to make the h5m file for some users?

what is their common situation?

Thanks for your words.

Thanks too for your will to give donation.
RTMG is a freeware. no need to give money.

instead of, you should give me full informations for the 0kb file bug as the folder where RTMG is installed,
where the game is installed, the name you gave to your map, etc etc etc.

Sure thing RMTG was saved in
C:\Program files (x86)\rtmg

The most recent map was called "make it rain", however I tried many different map names.

if you want,

you can try to avoid the space caractere or any non-alphabetic caractere
for folders name and map name.

ex: install RTMG directly in C: root. (C:\RTMG)

perhaps on Win7, RTMG can have some troubles for processing his work from of common program files.
perhaps also, the bug happens in presence of special caracteres.

I really don't know, seriously these solutions have a weak chance to get sucess.

already, All of it and so more, I tried on my bro's win7 laptop. and never the bug is happened. that's a little bit frustrating.

now, the laptop and him are gone away far of my home for a long time.
my bro is gone studying to another city.

That is ok I am going to make an xp boot and make the maps there.

I do have another question.  I want to make the maps so that when you create it to play in game that the towns are random so you dont know who you are going to get in advance.  Everything I have tried always makes the maps with the castles always predetermined.

you can get random towns while the creation of a map IF:

you uncheck « Replace Military Posts by Faction Dwellings 4 to 7 » Option
you uncheck « Race » in the Settings window

If you check one of both options then the random towns option in the game will be no more possible
caused by some technical reasons.

Got it working

the solution for me was to fully remove from computer.

Install using the run as administrator command
Then run the RTMG.exe as administrator as well.

I have had zero problems.
