No more beach thing but you can walk on (unless you place under it invisible obstacles):

I only created the 192x128 version because I only need this for my Atlantis city (it is placed on "water" but must be accessible). But from this palette one can create all shapes and sizes if need smother connections.

That seems exactly what i need.

Just 1 more idea: Would it be possible to create a 1 square invisible object just making the square inaccessible? Placing these objects would f.ex. part of that "aqua terrain" make inaccessible, and so it would be possible to simulate lakes in normal terrain.

Just an idea.

Siegfried, when I want to do that I place small 32x32 craters (lava terrain) under the special terrain. I never thought creating a 32x32 non passable invisible square but it is an interesting idea. Would be an empty def basically, but can create confusion to mapmakers because it is ...invisible and transparent.

Also those who have the GF patch can make unpassable this aqua terrain, by fixing red squares on it.

Salamandre, I already added your "water" to my patch, which contains EVERY object I have .

I am currently uploading the patch (takes quite long).

If you could create the others sizes (5) would be great for mapmakers, having smoother transitions everywhere. I did only the biggest one for my need.

Now look what I did now:

This was just a test. I just wanted to see what it would look like .

Now I'm gona extract the better pictures from the original road defs, and make good looking ones using them

I think these would look awesome .

Now we can make roads above special grounds .

There is! Their names:

COBBRD.DEF
DIRTRD.DEF
GRAVRD.DEF

Look I extracted the important ones already:

I once found the defs when i was scrolling thru the H3sprite.lod with Resedit2.

Now 1/3 is done! Tomorrow I will do the 2 other roads .

Good Night!

Maybe you should instead ask Grayface to do a small fix to his patch, and allows roads to be placed over any object. Because for a mapmaker it will be VERY tedious to place roads using defs.

I like the look of the water. Nice to know one could put roads over the water, Myself I would use bridges for a more natural effect. But nice seeing a "Lake" looking terrain without the usual shoreline. Nice.

Roads are not simply a decorative object. They do have an effect on movement. Do those via defs placed "roads" have the same effect? If not, they are mostly useless. If yes, they are very useful.

BTW: There are bridges in the new objects collection. If they would be shrinked to fit to the H3 road size it would be nice.

Siegfried is right about roads, if the def ignore the bonuses then it is useless. But Siegfried is kidding when he suggests contracting a bridge at 1x1 pixel to fit the roads

Yes, the Roads are only decorative objects..

BUT, you cannot place roads above special grounds, even with GF Patch installed. Just try. Only way to put roads above EVERYTHING are these defs.. And yes, it takes quite long to do a road with these, but it doesn't matter. A good map maker uses a lot of time to make good maps.
I think these roads are good .

I rememeber that I heard someone talking about "invisible objects", so I desided to make some.

It was impossible to create only 1 invisible object.. (i wasn't able to put it on the map!?)

But anyway, I made 8 invisible inpassable objects for each ground:

So, here they are first, and then when I use the "show passability":

And here they are on their own grounds:

If someone wants them, ask me and I will upload them .

I did them just for fun, when I had some time to spend.

(i always have time for wog!)

I'm a little confused. Where the red boxes are, does this mean you caan't pass your hero over it? Or is it a highlight thing of some sort?

Yes, you can't go over them with your hero.
They are "invisible objects".
Look at the first picture .
