Galaxy Rangers : Section 3
After signing up for the Rangers, you were put through several tests. Tests that pushed you to your limits, and beyond. You were poked, proded, and put through the wringer. Eventually you were told "Report to Section 3." They loaded you on a shuttle, and sent you out to the middle of nowhere.
Apon ariving at 'section 3', which turns out to be a run down space station that looks like it will fall apart if you sneeze near one of the walls, you are dropped off. Mechanical voices direct you through rusted out hallways to a even more rusted out room. You notice several others entering from different hallways, who also appear to be new recruits.
A few minutes pass, and a door opens..well barely, but it opens, and out comes a grizzled guy with a eye patch on his right eye. His left eye is a pale blue. "Welcome to section 3. You were chosen because your scores were better then anybody elses. You are the elite. Where others fail, you are expected to succeed. Officially we don't exsist, but you have jurisdiction everywhere."
He .. hobbles out to the center of the room. He holds up a black badge, and a black badge with a red stripe on it. "Only if you are shown these, or if I myself tell you, will you surrender that jurisdiction. Period. I don't give a rats behind who tells you what. They have a problem, direct them to me."
He pulls out a remote and pushes a button. 12 video screens appear with 12 different faces on them. "No, these are not criminals you will be going after, though they probably are criminals." He chuckles to himself. "This is the Federation Council. They love butting in where they don't belong. Remember their faces. They will try to give you guff at every turn. Politely tell them to ram it up there...." he coughs and grins a lopsided grin.
"We are not the Federation police, we are not babysitters, and we don't answer to anybody. You don't have to be polite, you don't need a warrent, and if needed you can be judge, jury, and executioner. We deal with things that would make most people go in their pants, and cry home to momma. We don't have time to worry about what some politician thinks. DO I MAKE MYSELF CLEAR?!"

"You are looking at him. I am the only person you have to worry about, I will deal with anybody else. Unofficially Adam Wright and John Strongarm are in the chain of command, but they will butt out of it. If they say something to you, tell em to shove it and see me. Politely of course." he grins.

He grins. "I don't much hold to any strict guidlines here, as I said we often don't have time for any frivolities like some of the others do. I prefer you call me Ben. If you must be official and all that, Captain or Captain Bruiser. Big Ben or Bruiser is also acceptable. Personally I don't care if somebody who thinks they are important is visiting, I prefer we don't rest on formalities. All that sir this or aye aye captain is for the birds."
He hobbles over to you. "As for who I am, all that you need to know is that I am the person in charge, so to speak. I may hand out your assignments, but I am not a baby sitter. Unless something major is going down I plan on staying out of everybody's way and letting you do your jobs. Fair enough?" he holds out his hand to shake yours.

"You got the gist of it. Try to keep the collateral damage to a minimum, but remember that whatever or whoever we are after will be some of the most dangerous things in the multiverse. If you save a thousand lives and it (they) get away you could end up costing billions of more lives. Use your judgement. If leveling a city will stop the destruction of a world, it would be worth it."
He hobbles over to a console. "Ok since it is your first assignment, I'll let you all decide which to go on. Here are the choices."
"Mysterious disapearences out in Dacea 5, a space base near Pluto. Over 200 people have vanished without a sign." a picture of a very pleasant little space station appears on a screen.
"Mutant by the name Daystar, a Venetian. Wanted for the destruction of 3 space stations. Unknown powers, last known location headed toward Alpha Centauri."
"Dimension 303 has a recent undead problem, the dimension is one of the Nexus' main hubs. The undead spread to different dimensions, they may be unstoppable. The IDP has been unable to stop them, I'd suggest whoever goes have a LOT of firepower."
"Renegade former IDP member Mace Dartia has been smuggling deadly viruses accross dimensional borders. Do not take him lightly, he knows the dimensions like the back of his hand."

((taking the story up, from introduction to mission choise))
As I entered the new station, it felt kinda strange. I am not sure what is really going on. He didn't even know why he was at that specific station, only that he had pasted the test of the galaxy rangers and was now a working Andromedian.
"This place looks like it could need a fix" I mumbled to myself as I walked behind the other recruits((being the tallest one of us?)).
We were lead into a room. A guy who told us to call him "Ben" was there, and he told us that we had been chosen because we are the best. Well, I felt proud of myself, but looking around I got the feeling he was lying. This craphole didn't exactly look like a place for "the best" to be. It looked more like a place for...well..trash to be.
I listen to Ben and figured we were some kind of intelligence organization, with pretty good armor on our backs to.
Ben got to "assingments" and asked us to pick one. I looked at the four options and weighed the possibilities against each other.
"Dacea 5 sounded kinda nice. But investigating an disapperance required brains. And I know how much less "intelligent" we Andromendians are suppose to be." I mumbled.
"The mutant Daystar. Sounds like a mission that recuires muscles, but cause they don't know what powers he had, it was kinda risky to say that for sure." I continued.
"Dimension 303 is definitly out, I don't have firearms or firepower. So I can't burn a thing. And it hitting undead does not work, atleast not in the movies." I hurried along
"Smugler Mace Dartia sounds kinda okay. Need just to be able to track him, but as long as I got a partner to drive I can use my powers to affect his mind into seing things. So he crashes." I nodded.
"Well, as long I got someone else on the mission. I chose option number 4, smugler dealing."

-bah, who cares. Male or female, those venetians look all the same to me. Just one question Ben. If we're band of big elite badass rangers, why is our HQ is a beaten down rust bucket?

Ben chuckles. "This old rustbucket as you call it is not exactly what it seems. Mainly it is to convince people like those in the council that they really don't want to come poking their noses around. I mean, who wants to spend time in a place like this?" he hobbles over to a wall and pounds on it. "Martica, shut the inside projectors off."
The walls sort of flicker for a second, and suddenly the inside is well..fabulous. Looks not only brand new, but quite comfortable. "Don't let looks fool you, Martica here is better n 95% of any of the other stations. She is a self morphing, self thinking station. You want something, ol Martica here can provide it. Martica, armory."
A wall slides open and inside is just about any weapon imaginable. From old fashion swords to lazer guns and everything in between. "Close armory and activate projectors." the wall closes and the inside is a rust bucket again. "Even mutants can't see past ol Martica's projector. Your rooms may look like rotting holes, but they are actually quite comfortable. Now, I expect that if any of the council visit for you all to complain loudly how bad the place is." he chuckles.
"There is more then meets the eye with ol Martica, maybe even more then meets the eye with ol Ben. Never forget that. Martica can't speak, but she listens real good. You just tell her what you need, and if it is possible, she'll get it."

-Huh. They all seem like boring missions to me but, oh well guess i'll go for the smuggler too. Who knows, maybe we get to see some high quality chasing. What do you think? Tracey looked at the Andromedian beside him.

"Your missions can start whenever you are ready. You can teleport to the dock and pick up a space cruiser if you need them, if not here are some holodisks with the coordinates of where you should start at."
