Alright, the classical followup to Dilemma #7 is
Dilemma #7.1
A trolley is running out of control down a track. In its path are five people who have been tied to the track by a villain. You quickly realize that if you push the man standing next to you onto the tracks, his body will derail the train and save the five people tied to the tracks, although it will certainly kill him in the process.
Thoughts?

That is murder and you go to jail. So if you count your own life as equal to others you do it.

But letting a train kill 5 people when you have the ability to save them isn't? Isn't saving 1 life worth the value of 5, no matter what it takes to do it?

It IS worth it. But according to our society you're committing murder and going to go to jail for it. That's why I said if you consider your own life equal worth, because you're using the other guy's life and ruining yours to save those 5.

If I was sure I wouldn't get prosecuted for murder, I'd do it. It's no different from pulling the switch.

Killing is a sin - it's not about getting sued or so. You will burn in Hell for killing. You will go to a bad place if you don't push him, too. Ergo - life sucks too badly. No offense - this is a stupid dilemma.

That would be murder. It would be no different than kidnapping someone to harvest his organs because you could transplant a heart in one person, a kidney in another, ect, killing one life but saving more by "redistributing" his organs to others who "need" them.
