Xhane's Little Gift
Gather round guys, you are probably going to like this. Some time ago cepheus forwarded me a mail from Xhane, the new Community Developer for Might&Magic. She wanted to send a little something to our community to thank us for the passion we've shown in homm - She was going to send us a number of Clash of Heroes figurines that we would distribute through a competition. Unfortunately ceph's busy schedule did not allow him to organize such an event so he asked for our help.
Now here's the plan. Four kinds of competitions will be held with the winner of each receiving the prize - five random figurines. But first here is a peek of what I am talking about. There is a better presentation in the Spanish site.
About the competitions we didn't want the typical homm knowledge quiz but something with a better focus on creativity. I present you the five contests, you may begin at any time! Deadline is on late July.
- Make a Faction Competition (ICTC)
- Short Story Contest
- Unique Perk Competition (UPC)
- Map Editor Competition
- Modding Competition

Well ICTC is currently ongoing, so that is a good thing. That means others will be judging it (I am WAY to nice in my judging) right?
And I am definitely entering the original R.E.A.L. in short story. Unless the story has to be about Might and Magic.

A small question:
Is the story wrting supposed to have a specific genre or can it be about anything as long as it fits into one post?
And the map editor one, is it most creative? Or fun or anything?
I'd just like to know so I can start as soon as possible.

There is no specific focus or limitation, it can be anything you like. Just don't make it long-winded and you should be fine.
The editor challenge will be judged on a number of variables including originality and humour but not limited to them. Cohesion, imagination, eye candy, everything counts. They won't of course be graded individually but as a whole. However I should mention that I won't give much of a bonus to those who know how to remove unit symbols or add animations, the point of the contest is that everyone should have a chance to win as long as he puts enough effort in it. A beautiful landscape does not require editor tricks to shine.
Reason I haven't already started the individual threads is because I am expecting Alcibiades' opinion on something.

Holy cow, soon after the update my father asked me if I was expecting any parcels from France  The box contains a bunch of small packages each containing a figure and a card - on one hand it's a shame because I can't peek inside but better for you since you will have the excitement of opening them. Or disappointment if they are not the ones you hoped to get  Haven't counted the packages but it looks like each winner will get 5 of them easily.

I might enter one last competition that will be about modding - After all modders have worked hard in this community so they deserve something Awaiting some feedback from Vokial before I get to it.
