While waiting for Johnston to return, Matt also gather up more food and necessities.  "We don't want to stay anywhere for long, and even the Vault would be a bad place to hold up.  If we keep it open, won't provide more shelter then anywhere else, and if we close it.. we would suffocate in no time.  Most likely someplace with access to supplies close to the Vault would be idea.  So that we can replenish weapons while having some comfort."

"Am I the only person here who as not left their rations behind home? I am starting to wonder..." I tilted my head somewhere... again
Started searching threads again, hoping to find some sort of salvation within the gigantic everchanging spiderweb........... there was no sign of even a hope at the moment.
There was a surprising amount of bugs still alive in this area, they would most likely not affect anything at all, and could thus be called interferance and noise towards the greater picture.
I kind of miss ants, there was so few of em around. They usually spawned a single thread with a few minor directions, most likely caused by some sort of hivemind effect. I miss them, because their thread tends to be informative compared to the darned white noise of everything. Why could the threads not be filtered in some easy way, so that I could see what I wanted? I even recalled some of the mad scientists saying: "Boy, you are gonna to be one of the future, of salvation", ugh. I think I was floating in some thank back then, doing some weird experiements along with others. Some survived, others did not. I think only a few died, but it was not pleasant regardless. But humanity must survive to the end, to the point where we are no longer humanity, but something else.

"When is the fellow coming back, I am starting to miss him. We can't stand around, not much longer if i caught what I think I did" I sighed

Johnston made his way through the convenience store, keeping hidden. Filling what little pockets he still had empty with high caloric food. Johnston was never given any rations when he went on his missions and this was no different. It was expected from him to provide for himself under any circumstance.
When Johnston came to the freezers he saw that one of the slug-things had managed to trap itself in one of them. The cold was slowing it down considerably but it was still strugling to get out. Johnston did not hesitate a second. He pulled his SMG and aimed it at the appearant front of the disgusting beast. Pulling off one bullet, Johnston shot it. The bullet traveled clean from one end to the other, splattering gore on the other end of the freezer. Even though it was rimmed with frost, the squishy body offered little resistance to a simple bullet.

Johnston made his way to the two others, just in time to hear the blind man. Johnston appeared behind him, he always enjoyed showing off his uncanny hiding ability.
"No need to miss me, sir. I'm right behind you."
Johnston put his visormask on again, quickly putting his sunglasses away.
"I am ready when ya'all are."

Matt leads the group through the eerily quiet neighborhood.  Every last noise makes him jump.  His nerves was not designed for this!  They neared the Armory, and so far it had been relatively quiet.  Which bothered Matt more then anything.  The Legion should be throwing everything they had at them to keep them out of the Armory.  Sure it would only give them a SLIGHT fighting chance, but as it is right now they had no chance at all.  Bullets did very little against some of the nasty creatures that lurked in the Mist.

He could see the headquarters up ahead.  Suddenly something that sounded like a low moan reached his ears.  Zombies?  Even if it was the ones driven by occult magic, they were still kinda slow, the three of them could still make it.  Then..the ground shook.  No not zombies.  Zombies don't make the earth shake.  So..what in the world....

Out of the mist charged a triceritops!  Quickly followed by another.  Worse since they were coming head on, the armoring on there neck would deflect any bullets.  Heck their hides just might also.  The Legion was using flipping dinosaurs now?!

Johnston followed the other two through the city. He had virtually no idea where they were going, since he only saw a small part of when he was driven through this morning. The librarian was taking the lead, he had an inclination as to where they were supposed to go. As a courtesy to his companions he did not hide himself as they trecked onwards to the Armory.

Suddenly they were charged by two Triceratops. Johnston supressed the urge to curse out loud, it would not be gentlemanly to do so in company. The beasts were charging them to fast to snipe them. Johnston could have hidden from the stupid beasts, but unfortunately his new companions could not. Johnston would gamble, he remembered a similar situation he and his uncle were in years back.
Johnston quickly drew his SMG. He aimed for the front beast's eye but he pulled the trigger before he had accurately aimed. He squeezed off several rounds, none of them actually hit the beast's eye as Johnston intended. However it scratched the it's scaly skin and the beast bellowed in surprise.
The Triceratops altered it's course slightly so he would miss the small retinue. The other beast that was close behind it had to alter it's course as well so it did not collide with it's mate. However in doing so, it crashed headlong into a nearby building. The second dinosaur slumped unconsious after the collision, as the first thundered on back into the mist.
Johnston looked at his new companions, but they were slightly fased by the events. Johnston would take matters into his own hands for now.
While unhooking his Aeger, Johnston walked over to the unconsious dinosaur and jumped on it's back. While balancing with his gun in one hand, Johnston managed to get an armourpiercer out if his bullet supply. He loaded his gun and pointed it at the point where the spine entered the skull, just below it's bony frill. Johnston pulled the trigger and a satisfyingly small puff was heard. The new silencer did the job. Nearly loosing his balance, Johnston looked around the beast's head to see blood flow out it's beak-like mouth. Johnston kicked the beast a few times in the head, but it did not respond in the least, it was sufficiently wounded to be either dead or no danger any more.

Looking back at his companions he saw the librerian looking at him, slightly slack-jawed. The blind man looked rather oblivious but that might be a ruse, he was lost in thought since they left the store.
"Now, sir Namon, correct me if I am wrong," Johnston said with his southern drawl. "But aren't Triceratops supposed to be extinct for at least 65 million years. And don't look at me like that, not all Southerners are Christian Creationist zealots."

The loud thunder of their hooves gave away their exact position, and they was most likely hostile. I then heard our dear gentleman sniper doing his dirtywork after stopping himself from swearing. He most likely landed a good few hits at the creatures most likely armored front, dealing some minor damage. The result was the creature altering its path, but its companion by accident rushing into a nearby building. Ah, the shortsightedness of the eyes.
The thing got mostly unmovable, and our dear gentleman climbed it before killing it with what was most likely high caliber ammo, and declaring them Triceratops. I roughly remembered the shape they was suppose to have, had a toy figure as child.
"Impressive, quite impressive Herr Davis." I leaved the scholar to such questions, we had another minor problem running around.
The wounded creature on the other hand was getting predictable, it was singled down to a single branch.
It would take a turn before attempting to redo its powerful rush, it even had started to plan out its next turn on the elegant stamped. It would be its death, for certain.
I just pointed towards the point where it would return to a straight path again, with just a single focused thread I could use my senses properly while moving towards it. "Get ready for the second round! It will come somewhere in that direction!" I stopped pointing, and moved towards the closest round metal object with a lenght over 1,7.
I tok my hands at what was shaped as a part of the structure of a small information display, quite thin and nice. I weakened its structure in the easiest way, then using raw muscle power to rip of what I needed. I partially made the tip more sharp, and the rest of the shape as much rounder as possible. If i had another hour I could have produced results, instead I just had a ripped of piece of metal for a information sign standing there on 3 other metal bars. A few seconds had passed, the beast was close to its charging point, still following its thread.
I just did a small estimation in my head, and then started running before I threw the metal bar (which had not really changed shape at all, I really needed a few more minutes). The metal bar flew in the air, did not change its flight shape much, and then hit the Triceratops in the middle of its head, cracking parts of its exoskeleton and greatly paining it.
I then pulled out my pistol and fired 4 shots hoping to hit it, the igniting plasma alike fluid would burn of most of its face. Hopefully one of the bullets penetrated and get either a eye, or to the brain, or to one of its hooves. It at the least slowed down the tempo of the walk, before collapsing to its left.
It roared in pain. I just walked over to it, concluding that I had hit one of its forelegs and parts of the upper skull. My puls increased, I shut of my ability to sense the threads, focused on what was before me so I would not make any moves that would result in me dead, elevated a 30 cm long blade from my sleeve and firmly placed it ready to incapacitate the beast.
I ran over and slashed it apart the best I could, it died partially of the blood loss.

Hopefully it had not attracted to many unwanted followers......

Johnston witnessed the blind man's stand against the second Triceratops. A lot was due to luck, but the man had the ability to sense what the beast would do and it gave him a distinct adavantage.
"I have to say, sir Frank, that you are not half bad yourself. It wasn't a very efficient kill, but an impressive kill nonetheless."
Johnston looked around them, he could not spot an immediate danger.
"Still I think, sir Namon is right. We should move on, before more unwanted guests show up."
The Johnston smelled something. It was pretty rank, but he could not place smell.
"Oh, by the Lord! What is that smell?"

When the smell first hit, the first thing that come to Matt's mind was..Zombies.  Of course a dozen things swept through his mind that smelled just as bad, if not worse.  Ghouls, Rot Weeds, and on and on.  each worse then the last.  What they saw as they got closer, however, worried him.

In a hushed tone he warns.  "Cariosus Folliage, the biggest worry about them is the fact they are vegetation instead of animalus.  Means that normal means are just not going to take it down.  Fire..fire will do wonders."

And I was just about to forget: "How does its perception work? Can it track us?"
I could not pick out anything in the threads, we would just have to rush it once we knew what we was up against.

"They are actually difficult to catch on fire, as their hides secrete an enzyme to prevent such a thing.  It mostly senses air currents and vibrations.  Anything that moves, organic or not, will trigger it's tendrils to strike.  Which is a good thing, we can distract it with inanimate objects.  However, remember, this thing is not an animal despite it's looks.  Cutting off a head, aiming for vital organs, none of that will work.  It will also regenerate, slowly, any damage done to it up to a non specific point."

I grabbed a nearby steel pipe and used a few seconds to rip it of, then started forming it as a spear. Hopefully it would be formed as a good spear before we would use it at anything.
I turned back towards our loremaster: "Is the traffic signs still working, we could attempt to fry it using the city's electric circuit maybe? But how fast does it move, and is it tracking us now? How long will it continue pursuit?"

Matt looked up at the lights, but unfortunately couldn't gain any insight if the power was still flowing as they were not on.  "I don't know much about the status of the electricity of this place, but yes..electricity would not kill it, but would definitely disable it for some time.  If it was tracking us, it would be coming this way.  According to what I know we are still at a comfortable distance, though range varies depending on other factors.  Wind speed, direction, and such."

He thinks for a minute.  "What we need is a diversion, so somebody can get to the vault and get something more suitable.  Like a flamethrower or something.  I .. think I can distract it, if you two can get to the Vault, get what we need and get back." he gives exact directions, and the code to open the vault. "As for movement speed, they travel a bit faster then a man at full sprint."

Jeremy was walking through the city, his armored laptop in a backpack slung over his back, his  modified GPS system in his left hand, and his taser is his right. Jeremy was not given a real gun, just a lot of battery packs, a supercomputer, a heartbeat detecting GPS system, headphones, a bag, and his favorite foods. He had not encountered anything yet, but he saw 3 heartbeat dots on his GPS. He crept around the corner of a building and saw three people, but on the other side of them were some massive walking plants.

"What the hell...?" muttered Jeremy to himself. He then tried creeping around the building towards the humans, but accidentally dropped his fragile GPS, which broke.
Jeremy then swore loudly...which attracted the massive plants.

"Son of a b*tch!" yelled Jeremy as he tried running away towards the 3 people.

I barely heard a noise, must have been the wind. Perhaps or perhaps not. Then I heard a man shouting: "Son of a b*tch!"
He was human, he had dropping something important to him, and he was another surviver. And he was running towards us. Something about the way he walked, looked around, and something gave of a few signs that he was sort of army personal.
I took steps toward him and shaked his hand saying: "Welcome fellow survivor. The man with the visor and the rifle is our sniper, a gentleman going by the name of Johnston B. Davis. The civilian in a elegant sweater goes by the name Mathis Namon, a sort of loremaster with quite the bit of intel on this foul plague consuming the lands. I am Fredrik Frank, pleasure to meet you."

I tilted my head around a little and then gave a good attempt at redo what our loremaster already had said, in a short sweet summary. I think I managed, somewhat well.
"Hold on a second, you are a engineer of sorts? Is the powerline currently on, can you make some contraption to use that power to fry the plants?" Then I came back to earth: "No, Most likely not not, we don't have time. The plants will be here in minutes. Look, you are good at jobbing are you? I think you should join the vault group, I might be able to hold a stance against the plants with some help."
I turned around towards our dear loremaster: "Look Matt, we start running towards the vault. When the plants gets too close, we stop and attempt to hold them." I then turned towards Johnston and said: "You 2 go into that damn vault and fetch some equipment, prefferably flamethrowers or railguns equipped with heat slugs."
I waited for confirmation on the plan.
