I try to make my 1st 3D rip monster (female_buccaneers from saibotlieh in Civ forum Here) but i have a problem with this one. I can not adjust texture by (M). Can you take a look and tell me what wrong ???

Have 2 models, but i can not adjust (M) so always missing texture. Can you send to me *.max file of 2 models (adjusted M) ???

I have no problem with her. After loading the model, pick the pipette, click on her body then select Sailor_Body_128.dds, apply.

I tried but still failed, all her body -> gray even i pick up her body and apply. Even with the Captain

Nothing change, i used 3ds 2009 with niftools-max-plugins-3.4.2.4632. May be conflict ???

Hey guys, I've been following these threads concerning new units/eye candies/backgrounds etc for use with WoG, and noticing a possible lack of knowledge in regards to the use of 3D software, specifically 3D Studio Max. Since my interest in these threads stems from the obvious thrill of 'updating' the somewhat old graphics of H3 (albeit much loved), I would like to offer my experience and skills as both a professional animator & rigger with more than 16 years in the industry. My background is from the feature film, commercials & TV-series fields, although I do know a thing or two of the games industry too. However, where I may excel in creating decent rigs & animation, I'm not the best modeller nor texture artist. My idea was that if we combined our skills, by those of you good at either modelling units & rigid graphics from scratch or ripping it from somewhere into a .3ds, .max or .fbx model, I can take it from there. I would also like to ask for the texture files done by you, which I can apply to the models in my software package of choice which is Autodesk Maya 2011.

I had a plan/dream the other day actually, of gathering a list of all the units in H3, and remodel + rig + animate + render them all and update WoG with this new batch of units. However, the task seems utterly daunting and considering the fact I do have a life (no, really?) I quickly abolished this endeavour. But, I think perhaps there's a chance of getting this done together. What say you?

PS: Can any of you tell me the specifics of how to implement animation to the units that we update to WoG? What I mean is fps rate, how many frames per second can an animation have, is there a limit? As an animator, one my pet peeves is the lack of frames in the current unit animation. It's like 3-5 frames in average. Does the H3/WoG engine support 25-30 fps?

You may find Heroes modding restrictions quite annoying, the 256 colors used, the small size and limited frames make 3DS max quite useless.

Thank you, I embrace the challenge.

However, I have high hopes for this new VCMI build, with 32 bits colour & HD resolution. It looks good so far, but somewhat limited as of today considering it has no map AI, music nor campaign support. But ever since I saw that magic 32 number in its specs, I already started envisioning grand vistas of gleaming, colourful, detailed and beautifully animated H3 graphical splendour.

Anyway, in short what I wish to offer this community is my skills in rigging, animation & rendering. I can also do some modelling but would prefer getting the models to be used as well as their textures. What I definitely cannot do myself is the actual implementation of my renders (both stills and animations) into WoG, replacing the graphics already there. In other words, I make nice flashy renders in whatever size & fps I like, and you use those rendered frames and convert them into whatever works best in WoG.
