An example of how bugged this game is. Scroll down to see several bug entries for a simple quest... and it's like that for each and every quest in this game.

So what I'm getting from this is you don't have a real problem with DLC so long as they lie to you about when it was made.

Whether they lie or not doesn't change the fact they made such a move, doesn't it? but hey, even though we don't like being milked, it feels better if the developer pretends he care for the fans, and not their money.

DLC concept entirely is BS imho.

DLCs are bad, not because they cost so much but because they force the player to keep himself updated on the game all the time. Another bad aspect is when playing through a game. Take fallout for example, I play through the entire game, and when I'm done they release a dlc meaning I need to play the game again. And whether I want to play the game again or not is irrelevant. I mean games like dragon age and fallout are single player games, so to enjoy the dlc when they are actually are release we need to play the game a little all the time. And if they were to have DLCs to multi player games they would either make the dlc useless(bioshock 2, additional maps lol) or they devide the player base.

Overall I hate DLCs sure they are sweet if you wait for them all to come so you can make the ultimate play-through. However I love expansions, so developers hear me! scrap all current DLCs plans and start making big ol' expansions instead.

Content patches on the other hand is super awesome, like the ones valve releases yes.

And Dragon age isn't that buggy.

Oh believe me, it's bugged beyond belief. Dragon Age wiki - much like Fallout wiki - has detailed info on all bugs. There are hundreds of them

Okey is has some bugs(a lot maybe ) but not enough to ruin it any way.
Fallout and Oblivion is still a lot worse

There are bugs and then there are serious bugs.  I've never bought DLC, but I have bought expansion packs and sequels.  It is a matter of degree and DLC is too much $ for too little content.

Look at Marvel vs. Capcom 3.  Jill Valentine and the tentacle-monster are DLC off the bat.  They could easily put those two in the game but they know people will pay $10.00 for the two of them.

Yes, the "DLC" and "extra" crap is getting out of hand.

Have you seen fan forums? They could as well want 15$ for it. Some people will buy it no matter what and make excuses for every outrageous price.

Or they are members of dev team posting there. who knows.

At CivFanatics though, EVERYONE seems to oppose the idea.

But whatever. Dad brought Babylon (he's one of those people who'll ALWAYS buy DLC's) and I've had some really good fun with them playing a good ol' Builder's game with them (one of the few Civs who allow such a strategy, since you don't need to worry that much about Science and Happiness)

I'm on Civfanatics and yeah not many DLC-happy people there. but try gamefaqs, for instance. A lot of rich people there, or something. They just don't give a damn if the DLCs are a ripoff.

Well, in the DLC's defence, Babylon and Mongolia are both awesomesauce.

And about CivFanatics. Although I'm posting there, I'm basically staying away from these discussions. They always end in tl;dr lists of awfullness and whatnot and I'd rather not waste my time to see other people b*tch and moan about their disappointment. I think Civ5's a decent game, it just isn't as *CIV* as it could have been (similar to Heroes 4, which didn't fit the franchise that much and got frying over here)
