It was that simple! I tried to play my map just to make sure the problem was still there, and it was. And you're right, I noticed that I had forgotten to set some dwellings and mines on "no player". But I didn't think the problem was coming from that mistake.
I was starting to believe my map was a lost cause. Thank you so much!

Good deal!

I actually always keep the editor set at "no player" just because I never remember to change it back if I set it to a player number.

Then I use the object properties to set ownership.  Less efficient, I'm sure, but it works for me.

Good job fulano, I missed those posts. RU still around & making maps?

Forgot, I also want to link my most recent effort to teach H5 map-making. Also, Map-play is much better with Q's A.I. so I thought I should update the guide. The first 4 posts comprise the guide.

Much will be the same info but I think I did a better job with explanations and I know I've added or improved some stuff.

I'm still working on a few maps too.  I've got two maps I'm trying to finish up and an interesting idea for a third one but I want to wait to start making it.

Looking for feedback concerning Hero selections;

Question for H5 gamers; (even ones that have not played in a while) would you prefer having only your faction Heroes show-up in the Tavern instead of the default random?

What about when starting & playing with 2 different factions? Would you like it better to have only those two races showing up in the Tavern versus the default difficulty of trying to get a decent Hero forthe 2nd town?

Pretty clever you are. I did decide to put something here a tad later, thinking I know we have H5 gamers/mapmakers visiting once in a while; better let them know that there's still some activity with this great game.

Hi, it's been quite a while, hope everything is well?

1)For the first month your taverns sould only have faction heroes. After that heroes should be 50/50 so you don't miss out on the LVL 15+ defeated heroes.

2)Can we make each towns tavern uniquely generated? Yes= See 1) No= Split or rotate the heroes for each owned faction. But drastically increase the chance for a defeated hero to show up in adventure map taverns. It would make sense when you think how far a recently defeated and disgraced hero would travel in that amount of time.

Cheers Gibblets, good to see you out and about again.

I agree with your ideas but I don't know how to make the changes.

NWC/3DO "at times", had the great idea to have more than one model for an object. i.e. the great variety of portals.

Everyone that's discussed Taverns wants different selections like you stated but we need someone with the skills to investigate.

I'm guessing that the game's-code could not be easily edited (Heroes in town-taverns after defeat) but maybe an alternative to be created; that would allow more choices?

There are folks here doing some great modding work maybe one will have a look and see if we could have an "Adv-tavern with a separate tav-filter". However I think the big-hurdle would be how to get the in-town and outside-tav to act independently; since it's the object-tavern that has the filters and not the town-tavern.

I like most of H5 but the Editor is a huge-fail in many areas; too many objects with "fixed-settings" and/or only one model, etc. <imo> there should have been more variety & tools in Five's editor...not less.

Ofc, I'm not saying anything you don't already know.

You have to allow that in the Map Properties "drop-down." Note this; the drop-down window must be wide enough to see the "little-comments off to the right" This way I know you've got the window wide-enough.

Just go to the faction # (under objectives) and find the line where it says "dies in a week" or something like that, and for that faction change it from true to "false."

Important: iirc I had to do this 3 times, so "expand" all the files and change to false in the (3 locations). This (1-3)might be impacted by the Main-Objective, but it doesn't hurt to check the others, even if they are not needed on the map type.

Ask any further questions for clarity, if I was too brief.

I have not updated this in a while but I might since it's nowhere else now. Maybe a Mod can give me the green-light access for the first post?

Anyway, regardless...

About creating an H5 Campaign; I thought should share a recent discovery that could save someone else a very big headache.

When learning to make your first campaign it is probably pretty common to work some bugs out and get things right, for one reason or another, text etc.

FYI, if you make a second campaign name because of some failure ( I can't edit my original); before "Testing" the new changes you MUST delete any previous effort or "it or them" will sabotage your tweaks and the new Camp will be a morph buggy mess and will misfire! Maybe a no-brainer in hindsight but too easy to overlook.

I suggest you explain what you are wanting to do and the steps you have already taken. Maybe someone skilled like Mag can help you. I'll try but I need to know more to even make the attempt.

Hi!

I made an effect for creature genie to teleport to a random free
place on battlefield. For this I want to use a teleport visual effect. The playAnimation make a mood like "happy" for the creature.

I can't help with that, I'm lousy with scripting. That's why I gave links in my guide.

The only thing I can suggest is since there have been some Battle-field Mods maybe they did that sort of thing and you could track the how-to. I've only used performance Mods so I have no idea what's out there.

If this is important, you could also ask folks directly that are still Modding H5 in the modding forum...there are still a few around.
