Football fans do care.. it's not only about the Game itself..
It's about everything! the atmosphere in and out of the stadium..
People should have a freedom of a choice , and now they gonna be limited by various restrictions, because FIFA sold itself to rich dudes from middle east!

alcohol is forbidden (well actually I dont think the quran says all alcohol is forbidden) for a very good reason in islam
if alcohol was introduced to day, it would never be legal

I thought it's about football, not about getting drunk on the street.
Plain to see which fans care mostly about watching sport, and which just want a good occassion to get drunk on the street.
Guess what: you can get drunk on the street every day.
The world is really crazy about that stupid drug if the fact you can't take it means you want to boycott a World Cup in an exotic country
what's wrong with Miami and Israel ?

Alcohol isn't going to be the main problem at Qatar 22. Due to being a Muslim country, if you're a gay football (soccer) fan, it's "don't ask don't tell". Homosexuality is considered a crime over there.

Quote: Good. At least it's not in my country as Soccer is, overall, one of the most boring sports to watch. It's fun playing, I admit, but I get no enjoyment whatsoever watching a game on TV where they may score 1 or 2 goals in a match. That's not exciting, it's just boring as hell. At least the AFL seasons are not interrupted.
Heh.... I see it as the opposite. I think it's fun to watch but a low-end sport to actually play. There's so much running around that you can't gab and play at the same time very well, and I just don't think it's very exciting to do stuff with my foot . I think baseball and volleyball are awesome to play because you can gab and still have a competitive game going, and I just enjoy doing the hand-eye coordination a lot more. Don't you dare take me to a baseball game though or else I'll be bringing my iPod and a book.

Doomforge you're one seriously bitter fellow lol. Quatar is a bad choice because the conditions for playing soccer aren't good. Players won't be able to deliver their top performances at freakin 40°C in the shade and thus you'll have a lower quality of games.
And just because you dislike alcohol (lol wtf you're polish aren't you?) doesn't mean that it's a bad idea to hold a WC in a country that imposes it's culture on the visitors. Not to mention the fact that the WC also is a party (note the also). It's not about getting drunk but about celebrating. Do some people use it as an excuse to go on a drinking spree and behave like the biggest ****** morons? Yes they do. Is it good? No. Is the alcohol to blame? Hell no. Alcohol is a big part of celebrations in the west (and the east and everywhere for that matter) so it's just bad decision making to have a party where you can't have a drink. But I agree with Trogdor there are far worse aspects of their culture being imposed on the visitors than them not being able to get a drink.

I'm not bitter. I'm against discriminating exotic countries. They have every right to organize a WC! Not just "big" players all the time (France, Germany, etc.)

I don't dislike alcohol for that matter (although yes, I don't drink it - tastes like cat piss).
I dislike how much power a stupid drug has over people's minds that they will actually care more about celebrating via getting high and less about football and sports.
Not wanting to sound mean, but big part my ***. Socially accepted drug is still a drug, and a celebration without drugs isn't automatically bad. If people really can't have fun without a drug, there's something wrong with them, I think. The world is crazed enough about a stupid drug, really.

I guess you haven't seen the german company that is building them some cooling systems for their stadium While there's 50°C outside, it's only 20°C in the stadium itself.
