@Joonas, the game conveniently makes a save just before you enter character creation, meaning that if you don't save over it, you can skip the beginning cutscene by loading that one.
I just found a dragon attacking a small village. I killed it, and everyone in the village became overjoyed and some of them randomly gave me gifts. Then a frost troll appeared out of nowhere and hurled my ass up into the sky (literally, I flew like 50 feet).

I think I'll buy this game but I don't want to be disappointed again like I was by The Withcer. So I just need to know something: Does the game have a nice gear system? Many weapons and armors I can play with? Cause that's what I love. I love playing with gear and looting. DA: O comes to mind...

Also I just ambushed a shifty looking group, turns out it was two nobles laden with jewelry and gold with an imperial escort...
And yes many elaborate weapons and armour.

I had a similar experience, my barbarian instincts told me that the town of Winterhold was rotten to the core, So I slaughtered them all, with an axe.

About the prologue, I don't mean just the intro video, I mean the tutorial. You have to play through the tutorial each time you wish to make a new character. In morrowind and oblivion you get the "last choice"-option where you can remodify your character to what you like and from that point onwards you never have to touch the tutorial again.
I'm obviously talking about the PC version so if you're on box you wouldn't notice the clunky interface but know that on PC it's the same as on box. Except it's worse.
Some of the choices work with mouse only
Some of the choices work with keyboard only
Some of the choices work with both
Some of the choices work with neither
It's obviously scaled way too high and big for PC in mind. If the choices were smaller you could nicely navigate it with mouse and see it all at once. No need for clunky scrolling because you can only see one perk or ten items at a time.
In the end it looks cool and doesn't work. Kind of like a redguard battlemage in Oblivion

I was playing on Master, found that the hardest to kill was a cow, seriously, killing a cow with level 1 dark elf with fire spell takes all the mana it has, wicked cows man.
I find the game's difficulty level set wrong and for casual gamers with high HP and low damage. You end up with boring slugfests most of the time.
Also saw a lightning fast rabbit running underwater. Skyrim sure has interesting inhabitants, incvincible diving cows and lightning fast submarine rabbits.

In Oblivion using showracemenu incorrectly could cause some major bugs to your skillset, though it might just work fine in Skyrim. I used it extensively without problem in New Vegas at least ^^
Might also disable your Steam achievements until you restart the game... did that in New Vegas at least.

Been searching for quicksilver for the better part of the last three days, must forge elven blade .
Edit: tis an update; not a request, by gods I'll fidn some even if I have to gut the inhabitants of every cave  .

Hmm... one of the Orc Fortresses I gained access to had a pretty impressive mine... think I got like 30 Ebony Ore from it.
Might be a recurring theme for the fortresses... check them out.
Anyway, CHAURUS REAPER WTF. I wish I was an Argonian right now cuz that thing's poison kills me in like 5 seconds... wow. All my armour counts for nothing here.
Ah well, let's try the good ol' trick... charge, FUS ROH DAH him to the floor and then use one of them super-scrolls I'm always carrying...

Buy some quicksilver. iirc they sell it at blacksmiths for about 200 a piece.

@TDL: Expert, enjoying it so far. Seems I picked the power gamer approach by going with a shield though... nothing can really hurt me at all...
The occasional Electromancer tends to blast the living hell out of me though, but Unrelenting Force is such an awesome crowd control shout that I never have to fear them either. I recently learned Ice Form too which grants me even better crowd control... can't shout people off ledges with it though ^^
I'm gonna finish the main quest with this char and then roll a Nightblade... focus on sneaky daggers and Alteration/Illusion for stealth utility.
@Dagoth: Geographically or just general content? Well it's bigger both ways really.
It's about the same size geographically, though the nature of Skyrim's landscapes means that you can't simply walk in a straight line from west to east... too many mountains and other obstacles, so it feels a lot bigger.
As far as content goes it feels way bigger as well. I'm overflowing with quests here, and just about every keep and cave carries its own story for you to learn.

I was thinking of Nightblade style but that was my second time in oblivion with Argonian vampire. It was pretty ridiculous. Just got to love alchemy. Poisons for everyone!
Might make a female this time since no matter on stats. I didn't have a single female in oblivion.
That is, if someone fixes the bloody interface.

Man the Companions and the College of Winterhold are like 10x awesomer than the horribly generic Fighter's Guild and Mage's Guild of Oblivion...
I love how they're both considered free with no real obligations towards any higher-ups... one can just go to the college and study magic and then leave... this way just about any character that studies magic can come there without feeling bound to any service. Awesome.
