After several months pause, I have the urge to buy the DLCs specifically because I want to play more with Helix the Primordial, my old Dark Brotherhood Argonian conjurer/warrior frontal assault beast. Do I want to adopt children? Why, of course I do.

Although I'm definitely going to be a vampire slayer rather than a vampire. Helix is the kind of guy that drinks cucumber/kiwi smoothies freshly mixed in a blender in the morning. He'd never become a vampire.

I'm having a similar problem as I did with Dark souls. I like rapiers, sabres and katanas, weapons that need finesse, love using them against humanoid opponents and just evading their attacks then slicing their innards out, but I feel completely kicked out of immersion when I go up against massive monstrosities.

So currently I use big-ass weapons to kill equally big mofos.

Played through Dragonborn, and it's definitely a worthy expansion. Not Shivering Isles levels of awesome, but still very neat.

Cool new shouts, nice bonuses, very cool powers (the summonable Dremora Merchant is my favourite, 'let's make a deal mortal.').

Overall more goodies. If I had known Dragonborn was so centered around Hermaeus Mora and his realm of Apocrypha I would've bought it much sooner.

Hermaeus Mora is made of win.

EDIT:

Always loved this one:

Quote:
HOW YOU SHOULD KNOW US
DEATH, DEFEAT, AND FEAR

We do not die. We do not fear death.

Destroy the Body, and the Animus is cast into The Darkness. But the Animus returns.

But we are not all brave.

We feel pain, and fear it. We feel shame, and fear it. We feel loss, and fear it. We hate the Darkness, and fear it.

The Scamps have small thoughts, and cannot fear greatly.

The Vermai have no thoughts, and cannot fear.

The Dremora have deep thoughts, and must master fear to overcome it.

THE CLAN BOND

We are not born; we have not fathers nor mothers, yet we have kin and clans.

The clan-form is strong. It shapes body and thought.

In the clan-form is strength and purpose.

THE OATH BOND

We serve by choice. We serve the strong, so that their strength might shield us.

Clans serve by long-practice, but practice may change.

Dremora have long served Dagon but not always so.

Practice is secure when oath-bonds are secure, and trust is shared.

When oath-bonds are weak, there is pain, and shame, and loss, and Darkness, and great fear.

HOW WE THINK ABOUT MAN

Perhaps you find Scamps comic, and Vermai brutish.

How then do you imagine we view you humans?

You are the Prey, and we are the Huntsmen.

The Scamps are the Hounds, and the Vermai the Beaters.

Your flesh is sweet, and the chase is diverting.

As you may sometimes praise the fox or hare, admiring its cunning and speed, and lamenting as the hounds tear its flesh, so do we sometimes admire our prey, and secretly applaud when it cheats our snares or eludes pursuit.

But, like all worldly things, you will in time wear, and be used up. You age, grow ugly, weak, and foolish. You are always lost, late or soon.

Sometimes the prey turns upon us and bites. It is a small thing. When wounded or weary, we fly away to restore. Sometimes a precious thing is lost, but that risk makes the chase all the sweeter.

MAN'S MYSTERY

Man is mortal, and doomed to death and failure and loss.

This lies beyond our comprehension - why do you not despair?

I booted up Skyrim (I download mods nearly everyday, just never play >.<

Anyway I was just heading to Windhelm when I came across a few hundred (yes hundreds, the place was LITTERED with them) dead birds, I thought it was just a mod glitch so I left the area and tried to erase that massive kick to immersion. However... During my last session I came across a sorcerer castle, and just as I was planning on how to deal with them I saw lightning randomly flying around, upon closer inspection I saw that the sorcerers (necros I think) were just electrocuting birds by the truck-load. Nice to see immersion mods having an effect on creature behavior.

Also something fantastic I found a few days ago. THIS! Really, the reason why I love M&B is because the gameplay aspect is just so well done and combat is extremely fun, Skyrim has a lot to learn in this respect.

I've been playing around with some quest mods. Got Wyrmstooth re-installed after some oddness, but it's fun so far.

Edit: Killed the dragon in Wyrmstooth. So long as you follow the main questline it's fun, though the side dungeons on the island have been empty of foes so far.

The mod itself improves immersion and helps me get over the fact that skyrim needs to excel a lot in that department, seeing how the combat isn't that thrilling, especially compared to games like DS, Mount and blade, and Chivalry.

Well admittedly the relationship feature is extremely lame and offers little beyond your own personal sandwich maker.

However the sexual aspect is not the first thing I'd look for to improve, and especially not in such a pornful (that's a word now) way. It's kinda gross imo, definitely not adding to immersion.

I must compliment the designers on some beautiful artwork with the new DLCs. It kind of gave me a revived interest in rebuying the game for my PC so I can experience it on a superior graphics engine (I hadn't bothered at the time because I was on the verge of getting a new PC but wanted to play Skyrim so I just picked it up for my PS3). There were several occasions where I stopped and stared at the neatness of the atmosphere. Really nice job with the arctic glacial caves and the underground vale and such. I hadn't played a 2-hander yet so I rolled up another character, this time Copperhead, an orc fighter/alchemist with huge black Jamaican braids and orange warpaint. He's been quite the beast. After finishing up Dawnguard with him I kind of randomly took a break and haven't touched the Dragonborn questline yet.

I particularly like that both myself and whatever wench I happen to be with get a nice little sleep-wear once we're done, this saves me quite a bit of hassle in taking all my armour off. (you get negative effects from sleeping with armour - mod)

@Blizz: Dragonborn has a really unique twohander I bet you're gonna like.

In fact it has many weapons that do unique stuff, the last 1-handed sword you get is a creepy thing.

Skyrim slavery mod, finally something to do with all those pesky bandits, and annoying orphans.

Currently playing as a Vampire, having great fun resurrecting dead foes as vampire thralls (they seem to carry as usual if it's like farmers or Gerda >.>, the best thing is the bite animations)
