Kane scanned his memory to remember what he used to take for different types of jobs. But no memory however hard he tried, and he nodded. "A million will be alright." he answered. "Half now half after the job is done. Half in hundred dollars and half in twenty dollars. Two discreet suitcases."
Kane crossed his arms. "Accept and the deal is on. Archon will be with you within not too long."

Miasma gave a resigned mental sigh. Melony just sat there in shock, and slowly wandered back to the table.
-Why?- That was all that she could think of. -Why? Didn't you change, Jack? Aren't you...?- Melony began to actually cry, but she was ignored since no one else was within ear shot.

Kane walked back inside, only to find Melony crying by the table. He sat down at the other side of the table. "You listened." he said. "I could sense you nearby. It is a skill you pickup after a certain time doing what I do. It's an itch telling you someone is nearby. I will let you know that I only took the job because of the target. Archon has killed many before, if he can be stopped before he has a chance to kill many people again I will certainly make sure it happens."
He grabbed her hand. "Trust me, Melony." he lifted her chin up using only one finger, seeking out her eyes. "I will not kill innocent people, but this one ain't one of them. This person might have killed even more people than Ouroboros. Don't his victims also deserve justice?"

Kane sat down, his fingers playing with a hidden blade. He wondered if Miasma could kill him before he killed the host? Didn't matter, he didn't wish to kill Melony. "Another lecture then?"

It started with your speech patterns and is slowly progressing into your interactions with others. At least, that's what I see."
Melony took control again. "No, I don't think that you are changing back. I'm just... Disappointed. And I'm disgusted with who you are working with. I could smell the rotting flesh off of the other one from behind the door."

"You can never choose who you are to work with." Kane answered Melony. "You can only accept and keep your distance from them when you have the chance. I have certain talents and this time around I will try to use them for good instead of only what benefits me." he frowned slightly. "And Miasma, wouldn't a tranquilizer gun be enough when he is in his human form? Even as an alternate form it should work, I might just have to give him a stronger dose."

Melony winced when Kane cut himself. "Um... that isn't something that you normally do in public Jack... And miasma is just being even more rude than usual, I don't think that it understands humans."
Better than you, apparently. A little sarcastic comment came from the back of Melony's mind.
"Well, then." Miasma was, again, ignored. "Let's eat, shall we? The salad is the precursor to the actual food, you know. And our bread must be getting cold." She seemed to be almost glad that they had changed subjects so completely.

Kane picked himself a nice slice of bread and put a bit of butter on it, then sliced a few small slices off a banana and put it on and had a bite. "Better eat while it's still hot then." he said once finishing his bite. "And sorry about the hand, I guess I don't really care what's public and what's not. Kinda casual about that."
((And I'm off to bed. 5 hours too late.))

"Well, I guess that we will just have to cover that later in our lessons for public interaction, right?" She had her toast and some cheese ready on her plate. Melony seemed almost relaxed again.
Was Miasma? No. If it had a kill switch for everyone in NC, everyone would be dead. A few thousand times over. (It really doesn't like people... Except Melony.)
G9 moved through the alley's shadows and entered Xion's fortress through one of his various unused back doors. It had finally overwhelmed and eradicated this little being's fragile sense of individuality and had been restored to full power.
It wandered through the labrinth-like tunnels seemigly at random. The casual observer wouldn't know that it did, indeed, know where it was going. These wandering passageways had been simple for its structured mind to figure out and memorize. If ever it decided to kill Xion or leave for any reason, G9 would be able to make a quick getaway. Though I doubt Xion has let any of his recording devices and cameras fall into disrepair.
It thought about how many experiments had failed in here. How many had succeeded. If Xion would be just dumb enough to try and pull anything on it and "Experiment". It also wondered if Xion would find a way to make this work and if now would be a good time to run.
At least he didn't call himself the "Machine God" and showed some humility when he talked to G9. The arrogance of some humans... It stopped at the last door in a very rather lage halway, waiting for something to happen.
