I meant something different (a person who is still alive) but I'm fine with it. though it leads to another question...
a former person risen to the power of a demi-god or even god, still cannot have done one thing which is essential for most religions...creation. So, how do they belief the world was created?
natural creation, nothing divine, spiritual or so about it
OR
a spiritual energy created the world
OR
a long-forgotten people created this world
OR
a God (or more of them) created this world but they are dead long
OR
a once mighty god created this world, but was luckily overthrown by the ascended Ancestor-demi-god

She's calm, vengeful and curious. She likes to know how things work and doesn't really get mad, but if you somehow manage to piss her off...
@ Mr. 9: She still walks the earth, but she is both there and on a higher plane. Basically, she is in the "Heavens" and is sending a projection of herself to guide her people. She no longer exists in the world, but she does interact with it.
Would that answer the question? 'Cause I can't really explain it much better than that...

ok understood ...keep in mind, though, gnomes, that that is only what the inhabitants of sanctuary believe!!! it is not and WILL not be made sure, wether gods really exist in this world, this was decided.
however, going on...what about afterlife in this belief?
