"If you tell us, we may be able to head off whoever it is who is trying to beat us to it. Or alternatively, we may use their advances in their search for ourselves. If they do the work for us, there is less danger for us. And, depending on their rightfullness of thier claim, we can take the Codex from them."

Taruss drank some ale.
- I do not think that he is launching a party to retrieve them.- Taruss said.- for now, he only tried to scare us away. I do not know his location, and it would be foolish to search for him. We'd be wasting time for sure, while he could get to the tomes without much trouble. I am able to mess with him by afar, but alas, we'll need to encounter one of the challenges he throws at us.
- You're able to do that brother?
- Why yes. That's why I'm the chanter.- Taruss smiled. Try to understand what things dwell in his head.
- Still, how much trouble can he cause for us?- Domerth asked.
- Nothing too serious. Reduce our numbers perhaps. Send his minions after us. Who knows. We'll see. We faced worse than that.- He smiled.- Tell me, you aren't afraid, are you, Snorbald?
The spirits of the woods kept playing with Joshua, as he got lured away from the path again. He wandered again for several hours untill he finally found himself near the shore of Noketh. Kunn was not far from here now.

Joshua smiled as he broke free of the woods. "Had enough, did you?!" He yelled back to the taunting little spirits. "Maybe we'll dance again someday." Joshua gave a bow, as if he and the forest had just finished a formal ball, and walked to the town.
He talked to the first of the citizens he met, "Excuse me, but could you tell me where is Kunn from here?"

The fisherman dragged his raft out of the water before answering Joshua. He had a great load of breams and several pikes in it.
- A short walk really. Just follow the current and you'll see it's walls in no time.
- What will be, will be.- Taruss said.- Well, brave warriors- He said it with a smirky smile. It was addressed to Rhain and Snorbald- are you strong enough to wrestle the mighty welses of Noketh?

- We don't catch welses with nets or harpoons. We catch them in an intriguing way.- Domerth said.- Vulkan fashioned copper and silver baits that imitate small fish like bleaks or grudgeons. Those metal things work wonders. We throw it in the water than pull it back in. This way we search for the fish instead of it searching for us
- Omutt also has his own way.- Taruss said.- He hooks a fist sized chunk of meat and ties it to a strong rope, ties the rope to a youn birch and throws the bait into the middle of a river.
- So that's what happened to that birch grove- Noted Domerth.- Still, either way, the wels fishing is as exiting as an auroch hunt. You won't be dissapointed.
- Should we get the others?- Taruss asked.
- If they want to go.-Domerth said- I last saw Thorald telling about his exploits to anyone who'd listen to him. Nordskib keeps company to the elderly and I haven't seen Sandrauidaga since the gathering.
- Not for sale!- The fisherman suddenly became very angry.- Go and catch it yourself if you're so hungry!- Cursing at Joshua he picked up the net with his catch and walked away dragging his raft.

confused as to the fisherman's random rage, Joshua decides that he should probably get back to town before someone in his mercenary group decided to proclaim himself as the new leader.
With a "light" jog that most people would have found exhausting after a half mile, Joshua ran towards Kunn.

Sandraudiga had spent one day inspecting her equipment and replacing what she deemed necessary. She had acquired some dried fish and meat incase they'd face barren lands, a new spearhead and traded her already worn blanket for a new one for her horse, albeit, with a decent exhange that left the merchant smiling a tad too widely. She had spent half of the next day looking for a proper knife as a replacement for the one she had given away as a part of her vow. None of the knives she had tried had fulfilled her requirements so she had ended walking to the smith and ordering a blade from him. The rest of the day she had spent gathering birchbark and amadou for the handle, new summer shoes and for use as tinder respectively. It was during this time that she had noticed a shiver go through the area. Something was happening in the spirit realm. No, something had been happening for some time, that was just the first visible sign of it. She had finished her business in the woods for the day and returned to the village, where she had promised to help the smith by bending the steel's will to match the shape he wanted it to become in exchange for the blade.
It hadn't been even sunset yet when they had started and she had seen the first rays of the sun when they finished. She had been exhausted, steel had a very strong will and long origin so it had taken much to convince it to heed her words. It hadn't exactly helped that the smith had not been willing to explain to her exactly what he was trying to do. "Trade secrets" he had mumbled to his beard while continuing his work. His arrogance had only made convincing the steel that much harder, it was completely against whatever the smith was trying to do. Halfway through the night she had thought of simply breaking the steel's will but even she understood that would not yield the same results, possibly even break the steel, and she wasn't even sure if she could have managed that. She had been too tired to question the smith more about what he was trying to do in the morning and had simply went to sleep.
The sun was shining high now, it was noon or soon would be. The same disturbance was in the air and she could see it still shivered like yesterday. She decided to visit the Chanter and Domerth to see what did they know about these changes in the spirit realm and drop by the smith later to see what was it that had been so against the steel's will that he had needed someone to convince it to bend to his will. She came upon the men preparing to leave.
"Where be ya headed, Chanter?", she asked while approaching Taruss.
"I have matters I wish to counsel with you, might I tag along?"

- We're off to the river. With nothing better to do we decided to go fishing for welses. - Taruss was carrying some reels with strong hemp string and the metal lures.
- Is it about the disturbances in the spirit realm?- He asked while walking.- I've felt it too. However I'm not yet sure what it means, but I think that something's going to awaken from a deep, very deep slumber.
The group approached the shore where Omutt had been preparing a raft. He already been working with the harpoon. The proof of it was three large asps.
- Ready?- He asked.
The group got onto the raft and swamed into the middle of the river. After dropping the anchors, Domerth explained how to use the reel.
- You spin a lenght of string around, and then throw it. Then slowly reel it in. When the fish hooks, you'll feel it. Then, try to tire out it while reeling it in. Simple, once you get the hang of it.

The fishing in the river fared quite nicely. Soon enough the group held a contest of who'd caught the largest. After a while and complete exhaustion, Omutt was declared the winner. His wels was a bit longer than three meters, and it was the only wels that didn't broke the string. Most of the catch was asps and pike perches.
Back after a hot sauna, the group was sitting near the chief's hall, waiting for some of the catch to be served as dinner.
- The wels is a tough fish. If you hooked one, it doesn't mean that it's yours.- Domerth said. He managed to hook a huge one, however it broke the string and returned to the depth of the river right near the raft.
- Snorbald, I think that our mighty mercenary won't show up to prove his manliness against you- Domerth said and refilled the tankards with finely matured mead.
- So Sandra, what concerns you about the spirit realm?- Taruss asked while slicing a fresh loaf of bread.

"That is usually the problem with mercenaries. They bark a lot, but they do not back it up with a proper bite. We've a saying in my clan, it goes like this: A man's word is worth more than his weight in silver. Nowadays, many will let two pieces of silver buy their word."
Snorbald drank some more.
"But I should keep my mouth shut, before I start to sound older than I am." Snorbald said, while spreading some butter over a piece of bread. "I don't want you thinking that all I do is complain."
