Even when you are in the business of fun, not every week ends up being fun. This week, our security team found an unauthorized and illegal access into our internal network here at Blizzard. We quickly took steps to close off this access and began working with law enforcement and security experts to investigate what happened.

Some data was illegally accessed, including a list of email addresses for global Battle.net users, outside of China. For players on North American servers (which generally includes players from North America, Latin America, Australia, New Zealand, and Southeast Asia) the answer to the personal security question, and information relating to Mobile and Dial-In Authenticators were also accessed. Based on what we currently know, this information alone is NOT enough for anyone to gain access to Battle.net accounts.

We also know that cryptographically scrambled versions of Battle.net passwords (not actual passwords) for players on North American servers were taken. We use Secure Remote Password protocol (SRP) to protect these passwords, which is designed to make it extremely difficult to extract the actual password, and also means that each password would have to be deciphered individually. As a precaution, however, we recommend that players on North American servers change their password. Please click this link to change your password. Moreover, if you have used the same or similar passwords for other purposes, you may want to consider changing those passwords as well.

In the coming days, we'll be prompting players on North American servers to change their secret questions and answers through an automated process. Additionally, we'll prompt mobile authenticator users to update their authenticator software. As a reminder, phishing emails will ask you for password or login information. Blizzard Entertainment emails will never ask for your password. We deeply regret the inconvenience to all of you and understand you may have questions. Please find additional information here.

I think you should take into consideration that D2 is a product after years of patching. take 1.00 version of Diablo2 without Lord of Destruction - it's a MESS. The balance is horrible, the list of possible builds is tiny and there's nearly no items to hunt. No runes, no runewords, no good unique items, no class items, only 5 classes, most skills OP or useless.... sounds familiar? Yes, it's a pity that Diablo 3 goes through the same period (as if they didn't learn from D2), but I'm rather optimistic about its future: I bet the expansion and 1-2 patches will solve most of the game's problems. That's why I'm not going to waste my time on vanilla D3.

I would say the inverted power distribution is the biggest problem of D3. You start godlike, end a wimp. Honestly, it just takes the fun out of leveling, cause with each level you're getting weaker compared to monsters.

Where are the times where you start weak, end strong? Much more satisfying if you ask me.

To all who've got this far. When you play diablo 3, is it similar to diablo 2 in the fashion that it's always the same quests, the same monsters, the same localities, etc.?

E.g. in Diablo 2, you'd always go from act 1 rogue camp through the lands to the catacomb to defeat Andariel, so you could travel to the desert, find the staff, go through the palace and finding the lost tomb, so you could travel to the swamps, defeat the priesthood, so you could go to hell, defeat diablo, just to be too late to stop baal at harrogath. Is it basicly the same with diablo 3, i.e. different characters, but always the same world? If not, how does it differ?

I think it is warrior, sorcerer and rogue, but I'm not sure, because I've only been told about the game by a friend. He told me he got rogue so he got to fight the butcher, but if the event had been someone else, I guess maybe he'd have fought someone else? Not sure though. Also something about a quest, which gives you goldskin armor, which makes you immune against diablo's magic attacks. Again I'm not really sure.
