Do not try to re-divert the discussion to the side by attacking the HotA project.
You made the assumption that authors of the Modern Forge doesn't wanted to use copyrighted material. I refuted this assumption. That's all.

I don't attack HOTA, I just say there is no difference.

No, you made the assumption that authors of the Modern Forge doesn't used ripped models since they doesn't wanted to use copyrighted material. I disproved your assumption, but you sharply diverted the discussion to the side by attacking the HotA.

I don't attack HOTA, I just say, that HOTA is also using repainted commercial portraits of actors/actresses and redrawed graphic objects.
So you are not to blame Modern Forge.
PS Modern Forge was my first brand new town, I saw it before Grove and Covenant. And it was great at that moment, even if some units are not liked by someone. And it's still great now.

Firethrower, goblin with blaster and naga-tank are made for HOTa Forge or by HOTA members (Naga is by Axolotl, GGoblin and Firethrower - by Alex-ander), so they don't want to be blamed in stealing

No, we just wanted other units than human pyro and naga tank. Gogs are apparently very canon according to original Forge townscreen files (just look at pyro's dwelling - pure lava), and we didn't like naga tank.

At least Ukrainian Forge is also released (Cyber Zombies are from here). [/q]
Cyber Zombie is mine and it's definitely not from Ukrainian Forge - they were released much earlier.

But why such a reaction was only here and on the acidcave.net and mainly from persons that related to the Polish Forge project team?

Because we thought (and are still thinking) that this was just a stupid idea?

Besides - line up is still changing, level first will probably be some kind of militia, and we'll definitely do something about juggernauts and townscreen. Also, there are some plans about improving griffins, ogres and minotaurs, but it's not that important.

Juggernauts are replaced by beholders now, is this a temporary?

Juggernauts were supposed to be beholders, but it wasn't a good idea. I have several ideas, all involving 6 level units from other towns, but what would the final version look like - time will tell.

Juggernauts are 7th level, maybe you wanted to say 7 level units?
Do you saw Return Of The Living Dead 3 and on? There are zombies imprisoned in exoskeletons to be controlled by military.
Maybe it will be some dragon or devil, who's body is chained to some tank armor?
Or maybe it's imprisoned Angel with cutted wings, his body is chained by steel and he is forced to fight for evil Forge?

Our idea of line up (although it wasn't our idea to begin with, but whatever ) is something like this:

1st level is something brand new (Militia);
2nd level is "forgified" version of 1st level from another town (Goblins);
3rd level is "forgified" version of 2nd level from another town (Gogs);
4th level is "forgified" version of 3rd level from another town (Griffins) and so on.

So Juggernaut will probably be "forgified" version of 6th level from another town (or maybe something completely new, but I doubt it). Though it has to be quite original (like e.g. Pyro is, even if it's still a Gog with a flamethrower).

Champion on bike instead of horse:-)
Efreet will not easily be imagined to be fortified. Champion - also.
Unicorn is meaningless being fortified to 7th level.
Naga is already rejected as Naga Tank.
Psychic Elemental is also too ephemeral itself to be improved by steel.
Wywern and Cyclop are also not very good ideas. Altrough Cyclop can now shot laser from his eye and look like Cyclop from X-Men:-)
So goes Manticora.
Death Knight is already looking like robot.
So there is little choice in level 6
To me only Cyclop laser eye is something not insane.

PS So minotaurs will go to level 6?

Some of your things also looks stupid for many members of our team — for example, cybergriffins, as well as the idea that the vicious early NWC concept of compiling Forge army of creatures from other cities you have erected to the absolute. But we do not organize from the our opinion the marathon of derision and criticism.

Forgive my ignorance towards the topic, maybe some of the professionals here can help me out.

Simple Question: Is there any version of the Forge mod that can be run with WoG __without__ VCMI?

I've installed VCMI, but to tell the truth, I don't like it much. I assume I'm the only one, but I just don't get how anyone could think that the high resolution or the super smooth animations are a good idea. Plus it crashes all the time.

I apologize if this question can, by any standard, be considered stupid. I just find the entire "timeline" of Heroes III modding incredibly confusing. It doesn't help that, except for WoG (where the last news post is from 2004) and VCMI, no modding project seems to have an official site.

Best wishes!

What's the problem with higher resolution (no pixels) and better animations? O.o

Strangely enough some members of your team accused us of stealing "cybergriffins" (which aren't cyber btw) from the Factory project, so...

as well as the idea that the vicious early NWC concept of compiling Forge army of creatures from other cities you have erected to the absolute.

Because that's what Forge army was about to begin with - forces from other towns improved by Kastore and Heavenly Forge technology? The only unit that was PROBABLY not going to be recycled from other towns was Juggernaut (in Phelan Sykes' files it's clear that pyros were meant to be gogs). UNLESS you'd say that this NWC concept was "early" and shouldn't be considered as final, which is true, but in that case Forge can be anything you want, and I don't think that's the good way.

But we do not organize from the our opinion the marathon of derision and criticism.

1. DF2 forum is actually well known of criticizing and joking about Polish modders, so accusing us of "the marathon of derision" is really out of place here.
2. People can criticize what they want to criticize. If you criticize our griffins (and you do, as I read on DF2), I don't really mind. Criticizing our beholder-juggernaut actually made us to make another concept of 7th level creature.
3. Our "Polish Forge" team is made of literally four guys including me, and you accuse the whole forum of taking sides... Come on, that's just ridiculous.

Like I said, I automatically assumed that I'd be the only one that doesn't like the "improved" graphics. Higher resolution means smaller objects. Thats not always good.

As for the the animations, well, they're smoother, not better. Although the Heroes III style is not as much comic-book style as Heroes II, I think it still has that quality. The super fluent animations don't fit with the otherwise rather gritty drawing of the landscape, etc.
I think that might be the reason I think it looks better to have less smooth animations. Maybe I'm just too used to the "old" animations.

Who cares? I want to get Forge running without VCMI. Any idea?

Not possible at the moment. HotA will work without VCMI, but their Forge, when released, will be much different.

WoG doesn't support new towns, just replacing them.

And I suppose its a huge heckle to replace, say, Conflux with Forge given the data of some version of the Forge mod for VCMI?

Is not hard to replace, but right now, with VCMI and macaron compiling 5 new towns daily,  I guess no one considers time worth to work on replacing towns anymore.
