That is such a great name for a grail; Tesla Coil. In the VCMI downloadable version of Forge its simply named Electic Needle but doesn't do anything haha

Wow! It looks impressive as hell!  Good luck with the project and don't worry if somebody says it doesn't look exactly as the original concept. It's fresh, yet I can feel that atmosphere I felt from the original Forge town screenshot that we all know.
It's good that some people managed to do and finish this town in a professional way (including graphics and programming). We will be able to face those creatures from the Heavenly Forge at last and it's more plausible for this project to come out than the previous ones (including mine). Just don't go for it to release the mod as fast as it's possible. Do it as you wish, even if it means doing it slowly. It can give better fruits than trying to do everything in 2 months... Anyway, as I heard some of the Grove Town Team members are participating in the project, so I think we can be wait for it with peace in our minds. 
By the way, I found some videos showing Forge town.

Is it somehow related to your project? I'm asking, because it looks impressive, but if I compare it to current screenshots then it's a bit too old to be up-to-date stuff. I see that in the second movie there are used some units made by Hobbit, Trith and don_komandorr as I remember. I think that I also saw that nanomedic tent somewhere; anyway, if you are going to use (I doubt, because it doesn't look as good as your models) the lighthouse I once made then you can tag me as an author. I left it to my old team after I quitted, so I don't know if they left an information about me or not.
Second question, are you going to use those awesome-looking griffins?
Anyway, even after years from that problem caused by one of my team's members I'd like to apologise if anyone hold grudge against me, but bear in mind that I did not know either about the fact that the movie was a hoax... At least I played unstable (but playable to some point) version of the "city" that was minimized into some buildings and units on the adventure map. With that movie I uploaded and believed it was true, we were all tricked... But it was fun to play it anyway, too bad that it was used for that dammit "joke" from which only it's creator was laughing I assume ...
But oh well, today is today, good luck once again!

I was Nostradamus, when I said HOTA will not publish Forge in near few years

then yes, I do (and grey rectangulars are here not because the structures wasn't ready but coz it's a secret to be revealed)
The problem, this townscreen isn't even near to Hota standards
and brand new one (without using NWC sprites at all) was planned (still having all concept arts). Having 3/4 buildings ready made it looks easy. And when I (I was 1 year off of any heroes activity) decided to continue working, I discovered I lost them all

If you release materials that's left (background and dwellings), I think Community will be very glad. Personally I don't care about HOTA standarts. I think modders will gladly use any materials you saved.

hmm quite a disappointment, but when they said soon, it's not really soon, it's still years away, and this setback doesn't help.

Truely, truely sad news. It must be frustrating to lose all that work which, presumebly was quite beautiful. I liked this version (which you say is not up to par with HOTA quality) quite a bit as well. I hope this doesn't prove to be the end of Forge for HoTA.

Have you tried this: http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/PhotoRec? Or you can give your HDD to a professional data recovery center (they can even recover data from partially destroyed disks!).
Files are often not really deleted even if you format a drive...

I know but I install fresh Windows over and now HDD is 75% full so no chance...
But Wait! Seeing an "HDD" word gave me an idea... If I recall correctly my old system may had been installed on OTHER HDD (I got 2 back then, 200 GB which I use now and 1Tb that is lying under table for no better use). I totally forgot about that HDD!!!
Maybe I can find files there! (or maybe not)
Anyway, I should investigate.
