It's truly a shame that this thread has been inactive for 3 years.
Imagine all the memorable stuff that Xerox has probably expressed over the years that has not been recorded.

I actually dislike the word anarcho-capitalism, because it suggests that the ideological basis is capitalism rather than liberalism. I'd prefer, and am probably going to start use, anarcho-liberalism instead.

Valkyrie is the English spelling. Val'kyr is Blizzard's spin on it.

That's quite an ignorant thing to say because the infrastructural  basis for liberalism is capitalism, anyway. There are modern variations that can be considered a deviation from this but it wasn't a coincidence that Locke enlisted the fundamental rights as life, liberty and property. Essentially, liberalism was the ideology of the middle-class merchants fighting the aristocrats with divine privileges.

Capitalism is a part of liberalism for sure, but the goal isn't "capitalism", its individual liberation. Anarcho-capitalism implies that the goal is capitalism. Capitalism is just means to an end.

You are, once again, looking at things upside down. Capitalism is an economical model, it is the base, the skeleton, the core... Liberalism is the ideology that derives FROM it. The Laissez-faire of capitalism couldn't have been presented as an argument in the first place, if there was no capitalism.

Maybe historically that was the case (when people believed "property" was some kind of divine human right). Today, me and a lot of other liberal just think capitalism is the economic model most useable for reaching individual liberation. Capitalism per se isn't something sacred. Human freedom is, and it usually correlates with economic freedom, which isn't always in the capitalist's interests (like how regulation benefits corporations).

A communist can also claim his system will liberate people in the end. Liberation of people is a very broad term. But the ideology of liberalism in specific, the terminological coverage of the word that is, directly derives from capitalism. There were myths and hopes of freedom before capitalism but not a liberal ideology and it's not just a historical correspondence. In today's world, it still comes with a capitalist economic recipe and it's common as an ideology in developed capitalist countries. When some African people rebel against their dictator for more freedom, they don't call that liberalism, do they?
