Kerym accepts the acorn, with thanks towards the celestial being.
"I will be sure to take your warning to mind. Now, I wonder if I can still communicate with Aleron."
An attempt is made, just being him thinking Aleron's name, though he is unsure if the connection is still there. Maybe he gave up, there not being a response right away.
"Well, it should be time we left. And time for your rest, Brooke."
Kerym prepares the canteen for Brooke. After she enters the canteen, he heads for the door, planning to find some place else to rest.

Raistlin raised his eyebrows in an "I told you so" fashion and cleaned Ivor's wounds. Raistlin did not give Ivor anything to drink beyond water from his canteen. Using some rope and two of his knives, Raistlin made a rudimentary splint and sent Ivor on his way.
Before he joined his... companions... Raistlin threw the rock he had found earlier into the water to see what would happen. ((Waiting for Myti now...))

The rock is completely unaffected. No shattering, no explosion, no damage at all. ((You all also get the message from KI's character..not sure if I mentioned that or not))
Also..back at the acorn place...
You actually can communicate with KI's character..it does allow for a reply.

Raistlin was moving back to the shelter while looking through his stuff. "Did the death knight honestly not think of using a rope, or did he just not bring one?" He felt a presence tug at the corner of his mind and Aleron's message got through. Got the crown already? Great! Wondering if the connection worked both ways, Raistlin sent back the message, "I'm in the blasted caves, Tanis and Ivor have not killed each other yet. Trying to get the stick... twig... thing. We'll see you in a while." The message had been left purposefully short and cryptic in case the Death Knight could detect and intercept it. He would only know that they were still alive and somewhere in the cave system.
With that, Raistlin got into hiding and pulled out the length of rope that he did not use on Ivor and tied a loop in it. He waited a while to make sure the coast was clear...

The coast is clear, apparently they were not looking for magical communications or had no way of knowing that one was incoming.

Night passes, and preparations for the day are made. After Kerym finds someone to be a messenger, to tell all the others they are through with this place, (though he'd still rather stay and look through the library for a day) he speaks with Brooke a little.
"So, the angel last night mentioned that this thing will have a negative affect on the one who holds it. Make the one who holds it decrepit, if I remember right. Well, the waters you resided in had an opposite affect, right? I wonder what would happen if the two were used together. In fact, I think the water in your current canteen has water from there."

Brooke ponders "I am not sure. My waters do relieve the symptoms of the ravages of time, but not the actual time itself. So if it actually ages you, the water would not help..but any side effects of the aging..like weakness or aches..it would." ((Ie the holder would still age 10 years, but suffer no penalties to constitution or strength)).."However, the water's effect is temporary..one would need a constant source."
She shrugs "Of course, those of us who have no solid body to become decrepit, and who are made of the waters that rejuvenate, would be immune to the negative effects of the acorn. Much like I am sure the celestial being was. Probably that is why this 'seeker' let the celestial being keep it instead of claiming it for themselves."

Once the Count had taken himself off, Aleron thought to corner the Sergeant for a private word—he would like a few mundane eyes on the Count, and didn't think the Sergeant would need a great deal of convincing to assist in that regard—when he got responses back from his Sending spells.

The second Sending cut off, having reached the limit of the message it could convey. ((25 words)) More importantly both were late. That was...odd, and more than a little worrying. On a more optimistic note, most of his companions seemed to still be alive.

Rudimentary lasso complete, Raistlin stepped out to the water's edge and looked at the branch. After twirling it to build up momentum, Raistlin threw the to try and snag the twig.

As soon as the rope makes contact with the branch..it unravels to individual strands of whatever it is made of. Which of course renders it totally useless.

Not being aware of the other items being claimed by the enemy, Kerym either makes preparations for a ship to take them to the center of the great ocean,(if this is a town that can) or has the group head to the nearest town that can.

Kenesh is actually in the middle of the desert (which is why the spring that is nearby is so popular..it was part of an oasis)..the nearest town that happens to have a port is the capital or Swiftlane, a much smaller town..but it is two extra days travel then the Capital is.
((Note: If I remember right, the capital that is near Kenesh is NOT the capital that KI is at))

Swiftlane
Swiftlane is a stark contrast to the clean epic grandeur of the city you have come from. It is packed with warehouses and shoddy huts, dotted with more then a few pubs. It is rank and dirty, and the people are not much better. The hustle and bustle is mostly on the docks as they unload and load ship after ship. Brooke seems a might nervous about the town.

"Well, snow." Raistlin drops his now-worthless strands of rope, careful not to let any of the parts that touched the water touch his body (Who knows what this stuff can do?) and turned back to Tanis. "You have any magicy ideas, or should I just try using a really long stick?" Which he didn't have.

Aleron absorbed this quietly, a little taken aback. It was an unpleasant reminder that he was not as knowledgeable about his particular sphere of influence as he liked to think he was.
"As you command. Are you going to be taking over command Lord Baron?"
Aleron dismounted to bring himself closer to eye-level—incidentally allowing him to speak without broadcasting his words to a wide audience. He kept his tone business-like. "I suppose I must, given that our most esteemed Count seems determined to make himself an obstacle. I hope it doesn't put you out excessively; there is a great deal that must be done and only a small amount of time in which to do it."
