Started again, I'm at Jaerag now. (m3w3). I try to play fast and smart, but have no idea how to defeat him without overpowering army. He rushes out as soon as Catapult destroys the wall and there is no way I could stop it. Or am I wrong?

Don't force on speed if you are not comfortable with. With pace play you can still finish it under 15 months.

In general, not having ballistic requires bigger armies to succeed sieges, but you should try to acquire the skill, will be very handy later-it will come anyway, skills limit is now 27 with Era-. You can also destroy your own catapult with meteor shower or inferno, after a few upgrades only. (edit, forgot you don't have them so early, but placing your archers in specific position will make the blacks destroy the catapult)

First 5-10 battles are hard because we did not get yet immunities. Once you buy them, it goes much easier, thats why you should not skip a single utopia, every 2 weeks. Or play master of wealth and all your problems are gone.

They will curse you with slow and blind because that's all I gave them.
Slow is bad because you can't wait with devils, if you go inside you get slaughtered. Immunities level 1 spells must be first purchase I think.

@Warmonger,I have read here many advices for playing.

And the combination between attack and return with balistic skill is important for the enemy to stay in.

Master of wealth and master of elements are wise choice for a first time.

In my game, champion charge does not work this time. Ie. actual damage is less that projected and the same as without the ability.

If you reached the ability "champion charge",it seems you play fast.
You can upload some screens to show your progress.

Charge works only on walkers. Also Yona should be disabled because it gives too great bonuses to charge in this map.

Well, last time it certainly worked on Devils :/

Another issue: frenzied enemies do not take more damage from having 0 defense, actually it's less! My creatures suffer badly, though

Charge never worked on flying creatures in WoG-I can edit your save if you wish to move it to demons-. About frenzy, I did not change its internal mechanics, only added a script to it which halves the target HP. So should work as before.

I'm sure that charge once worked - it could have been another bug, hell knows.

Anyway, this game is a mess. After very successful run in month 5, I got stuck on Daremyth. Probably because don't have ballistics and not even water magic, which just don't want to show up for all this time. It's like she has got all the good spells and I have none :<

I suggest to disable secondary skills mod and just learn water from the first university the old way, switch hidden skills at the market of time to free first slot. With secondary skills mod we can't do that.

Answer:  To swap skills at market of time and bring a hidden skill in visible skills, use CTRL + left-click on experience icon, then accept when that skill is proposed. Then you forget it, and one slot is now free in visible skills, thus you can learn a new one.

If you upload a save, I will switch skills and free one slot. Market of time is for that but secondary skills mod prevents it working because they reset the hero screen each time you close it.

Rather simple:

1) disable secondary skills mod using mods manager-when map was made this mod did not exist, I play with it but there is a little inconvenient with forgetting skills-
2) in game, check market of time, it will propose you to forget a skill from a 12 skills list
3) If the skill you want to forget is in hidden skills, then you bring it in first slot, ctrl + click on experience icon.
4) Now market of time will remove it, and you have first slot free
5) Go and learn a new one right now, hanging with a free slot in battle may overwrite it after a while.

Well, that's what I'm talking about. I removed the mod from folder (disabling scrolling), but after forgetting it, skills align and leave no free slot.

I was thinking about forgetting leadership, navigation and learning and use slots to get water, air and balistics.

It works, but after disabling secondary skills mod, reload game and press F12 because scripts from it are still active. After refreshing scripts, try again, will work.

Note: if you gonna farm those thousands of imps, think first to give them 16 HP, so the ratio will be 1:1.
