Yup, exactly what I predicted: they will actually try to limit second-hand selling. Gaming is the only branch where money-grubbing developers see everything as "loss of profit", and a branch where they are actually most insolent and unstoppable.
Beyond retarded, I'd say.

I'm not presently worried about this sort of thing. There's too much opposition working against it, and I'm not talking about opposition from broke, C-student college kids. I mean real opposition.
I'm financially Jewish. I buy my games from ebay and other outlets. If this ever did pass, I would be a hot little potato.

I still think that DLCs is a bigger threat, and is a much more grave issue. Mainly because the pirate in me already knows how to pirate on console, so eliminating second hand sales is not that much of a issue for me.

Why? I mean, on-disc DLC is outright robbery, but why do you think DLC in general is bad?

DLC is 1% of the game's content at best (usually much less) priced at 10-20% of the game's original price. In other words, robbery.

I think DS can hook up that recorded conversation with that EA 'guy'.
But incase he's incapable of doing so, DlCs only come out once you're into a game and invested significant time into it, ergo to expand on that experience you're much more likely/willing to purchase extra content without hesitation, rather than a raw rookie to the game or franchise.
You do have choice, but it's a heavily manipulated  .
(there's a whole penny-pinching pscychology research behind this)

That's called CAPITALISM, which is about getting people to spend the money they make, because otherwise it wouldn't work.

Well, I, at least, am fairly sick about hearing consumers whine about items of entertainment and luxury being expensive.
If you don't like what you see - don't buy. For those unnecessary stuff that's actually all the options you need.
And best of all, if enough people don't buy, the outrage dies a natural death.
And speaking of consumer's rights. THAT'S IT! You have the right NOT to buy. Robbery is different.

My opinion
As I can see this subject,if the gamers are not united in the defending of their rights,then the corporations,which produce games will take this as advantage for themselves in order to do what they want!
IMO thats one of the main goals(to defend gamer rights) of HC!
I am not forgeting map-maker or scripter rights as well!
