There is another problem with these screens then just too big buildings:
1. No shadows. Really without them cityscape looks unnatural, especially Stronghold.
2. While Necropolis has citizents dwellings (althrough they are hard to spot), Stronghold has nearly any. Towns are not just creature dwellings, walls, market and city hall, towns need citizents to pay taxes. smile_teeth How your towns get income if there are no honest citizents to pay them?

For point 1: The sun is at noon here so directly looking down (lol)
for point 2: Good point, like in H5. Although Stronghold does have quite a few small huts in the foreground.
I like the Stronghold town screen, quite hilly and got some dense plantations....looking good.
One issue: the early town screens look great graphically, but the buildings are a little too big for the background....think they should be smaller to create that vastness....
Glad for the release now confirmed for 12th July along with patch 1.5!

It's actually early in the morning, you can see the shadows cast by the cliffs pointing to west. So yeah, the buildings should have similar shadows.
That's not what bothers me though, the colour scheme of the dwellings just doesn't fit with the background. This is a typical mountain landscape in the northern hemisphere and the buildings are nomadic dwellings from some wasteland so they look like something dropped from a plane (Warhammer 40k Orks, hm...).

In case you didn't know, that was the Heroes 5 (Tribes of the East) Stronghold town screen.
The new Heroes 6 one is shown on page before.

It's probably dirt cheap now too. I know this is off-topic, but in the event that you DO get it, you're going to want the 3.1 patch and Quantomas' incredible AI mod. It makes for an amazing game.
