Jesus ****ing christ schoolwork hasn't even started yet and I'm already exhausted.
Just started studying for becoming a socionom (Swedish title in social science) and goddamn being a freshman is exhausting.
What I have to do until next week:
- Get a uniform and paint it black.
- Wear a bandana with my name on it for two weeks along with the uniform.
- I have been named "Airplane", which means that if at any time an older student cries "AIRSTRIKE!" everybody from my class (we're about 70 people) must throw themselves to the ground and I must hover around their bodies with my arms spread out for a few minutes.
- I must help my classmates find materials (not buy, forbidden) for building a raft that two persons from my class can race on.
- I must prepare a masquerade costume with the theme "S" pretty damn fast.
- I have been named flagbearer which means I must protect the Socionom Flag from all the other evil opposing students. All that Capture the Flag from Tribes: Ascend comes in handy now.
- Must prepare a dance and song number to be performed in a few days.
- Also, if our song is ever played anywhere on campus we must immediately drop whatever we're doing and perform our dance routine.
- Must handle all this while being drunk 60% of the time.
- I've forgotten half of it so this is only like 50%.
Guess all university students go through something similar but let me tell you: I'm ****ing exhausted.

Don't worry, Ad, we've all been there. It might take a bit of time to get used to it, but when you do you'll see it's really not that bad. Just try not to focus on the your drinking and airstrikes. Instead, remember that other classes must have students with similar burdens. You just need to find them and laugh at them as much as you can. That will help you get through the day.
All in all, I'm sure you'll make it through. But you can be sure that I'll be cheering for you from the sidelines! Good luck, Adrius the Brave!

Oh yeah there are tons of freshmen.
And two weeks is nothing really.
Despite all the humilation it's really a great way to get to know people.

Well, that depends... The Arab ones are used for target practice by the senior students and the Jews are in charge of keeping score, fetching bullets and cleaning the mess afterwards.

I quess it's fun for the kids to play around but I just felt that playing around for a few weeks just wasn't worth it.
Besides, are you sure you want to have the people who get drunk 7 times a week as your friends?
Well, I don't really like to socialise in uni or work anyways, I see those people every day, that's quite enough thank you.

wtf? What is the point of this? Some of the other stuff is pretty weird too, but this? Is this a regular thing in Sweden or something?

Yeah I've never had to deal with any of that, I'm an Engineer. That means I solve problems. Not problems like 'pretend to do an airstrike', because that would fall within the purview of your conundrums of Socionom. I solve practical problems.

Freshman games are pretty damn common, but that game itself is unique to our program.
Other freshmen have other games and rules.

Nope, just older students introducing the newer ones.
Then we get mad and can't wait to torture the next year's freshmen, and the cycle continues.
It's fun too though, nothing like the initiations seen in certain movies.
