There is important activity around Era/Wog in the russian forum, try there fred

Yet the fact that you run a long time outdated Era version may rise big problems.

i checked into the df2 forum, and it requires a valid email address, which i'm not giving out. i don't even have a real email address listed for hc, and haven't since right after i signed up.

anyway, i have 2 maps now ready for script fixing for era 3, and to be tested. both are maps that were going to be in my campaign originally, until i decided to go with actual homm3 countries. many screenshots from them have been posted throughout the years here*; although i have worked extensively on them since then. i have fine-tuned each map to have their own individual stories(but both still have ties to one another. in one you play as one faction against all the others, and also against 3 unified factions; and in the other map you play as the trio of unified factions against all the others), and need players to test them so i can fine-tune them to optimize player experience before release. each of these maps have been worked on for 10+ years; constantly being revised/improved. but as i'm not a competitive player, i need competitive player input.

*here are current map screenshots:

domination:

the dark alliance:

i was scheduled to start college in late october, but i pushed it back to late november. so i have until then to get the scripts for these maps fixed for era 3, and the maps tested and released.

Bruh search "disposable email adress" site, you csan also create a fake one with gmail.

Anyways, I think your object path should come by default with ERA installation...

It can't be distributed with Era, because the last time I checked (maybe fred changed that and would be great news), he used the original lods for all new objects, instead of mod system, with own lods and supporting mod system.

I already warned him, years ago, that more he continues in that way, bigger will be work needed when it comes to distribution, so I hope he fixed it. In that case, the mod can be distributed any time.

Anyway, I am offering to test (and fix what is doable) the maps, if they are shared as mods. If not, the work is too heavy.

it would make things a lot easier if i could get the scripts rewrote for era 3 beforehand. otherwise, you're looking at me making an 800+ mb mod, instead of a smaller one that just runs on era 3; because i would have to include the entire era 1.8 heroes folder.

these are all the creature scripts i now use. they currently work in era 1.8(aside from the enchanter's hardcoded casting ability, which i cannot turn off with the knowledge i possess regarding scripting. also, a couple of the demilich scripts don't work either, but that's no biggie).

how do you know those scripts don't work in Era 3?

era 3 changed addresses and some scripts, right? it only stands to reason i could have issues with these; especially with the UN:C scripts. i'd rather not have any map testers having script crashes while trying to test the maps themselves for weaknesses/improvements. i'm on a time crunch here.

also, i can't get the test mod to even work on era 3. i don't know what is taking precedence over my mod, but i want my mod overwriting all other graphics for my maps(because i don't want my maps to look anything other than how i designed them, specifically), and for my scripts to work with era 3.

i just want the transition for players to go smoothly, and i'm not able to do so myself.

I think those scripts work on Era 3, I see no errors and addresses were not changed. The only  way to see is that you install Era 3, run them and see how's going. Then post the specific errors you got.

Hi,

the last time I checked your scripts for ERA 3 all worked. You remember?
There was just one exception somewhere in this part of the code that lead to a crash when engaging in battle:

it would make things a lot easier if i could get the scripts rewrote for era 3 beforehand. otherwise, you're looking at me making an 800+ mb mod, instead of a smaller one that just runs on era 3; because i would have to include the entire era 1.8 heroes folder.

What I meant is that ERA bundles your object pack with their download. That way it doesn't have to be dowloaded separately.

It also helps people to use the objects in their maps.

i need all of them. that sea dogs' script doesn't work, though, so i don't really need that(i swapped the sea dog[enchanter], for the leprechaun[peasant] anyway).

@ nimostar: i only have time to release these maps, and what comes with them. i don't have time to rename/replace everything for the object patch. the graphics'll be coming with the map releases as-is. unless i'm misunderstanding you?

________

i reinstalled era 3, but it will take time to figure out the main source to put all my stuff, as a simple mod doesn't overwrite the old heroes/wog graphics(which is vital for the maps).

How are organized your graphics, are they alone in a .pac file or they are in H3sprite.lod, scattered among the vanilla graphics?

everything has been altered in the original lods. all the graphics, text files, a lot of the bitmaps, a chunk of the creature and sound files; the content needed for the maps is extensive. i've been modding almost everything; not just adventure map stuff.
