MAGGY IS DEAD! What have you done god!?

Margaret Thatcher died today. Forever will this day be one of woe for me, our nation's greatest snow, and most cold hearted shrew has passed away. She was more than a snow, she was an idea, she had more balls than all the leaders combined; she stood by those ideas till the bitter end, and for that I commemorate this thread to the snow.

Long may her deeds be remembered by you ungrateful louts.

Not to mention that she's the sexiest Prime minister yet:

Her frowns had the power to make any man's penis retract into his innards:

Her sexual appetite is another thing to admire. Even ol' Reagan falling for Thatcher's overwhelming sex-appeal.

She was the best Prime Minister I've ever read about. Maybe that's not saying much but she will be missed.

She had made her unique policy in the field of Supply-side economics, which meant to control the inflation in her country.

Well, there'll be a week or so of exaggeration how great she was, etc., etc., then people will forget and return to their grey daily life. Seen it before.

Not one I sympathize with in terms of her policy, but you gotta respect her guts. I think the movie about her last year was really good, did a good job of giving a balanced impression of her good and bad sides.

the single most remembered prime minister, for good (pfft- HAH!) and for ill. Across the united kingdom, effigies are being burnt of the woman, constructed by miners of wales and yorkshire, by the northern irish, and by ex-children who didn't get their milk, whilst the etonian boy's in blue weep for the iron ladies passing. Often mimiced, but never truly captured, her ghost will haunt the house of commons like a tory banshee, her tutts of disapproval echoing in number 10, making tory's remember a time when they didn't need to be so simpering whilst crushing the dreams of the rest of us.

R.I.P Maggie Thatcher, Milk Snatcher. The evil ***** will probably be taking over hell from satan as we speak.

Edit: about the movie... Erm, not really. if you want a good representation of her good and bad sides, spitting image does a much better job than the movie. also, I very much doubt that in her old age, Jim broadbent was haunting her.

Margaret Thatcher's passing was a truly tragic story for me I would say.

Perhaps like no other British Leader of the 20th Century outside Winston Churchill, Margaret Thatcher was perhaps one of the most polarizing figures in Britain, loved by the right, and hated by the left. I will never forget what she had done to the world alongside Ronald Reagan and Mikhail Gorbachev, the peaceful ending to the Cold War. It takes someone with very strong willpower and a dominating world presence to end a bitter ideological conflict like that, but the Iron Lady prevailed, and the Soviets knew they had to change their ways...or suffer the consequences...for the better of the world.

Two Cold War Heroes who helped end the war without bloodshed - Reagan and Thatcher, both dead.

I applaud her for reforming Britain and bringing it out of excessive union control, but I however cannot condone her sporting links with apartheid South Africa (though the president at the time, P.W. Botha, was already giving Indians and Coloureds some rights, but still...)

Together with another Cold War Hero, Mikhail Gorbachev, Margaret Thatcher brought about the dissolution of the tyrannical USSR and destroyed the godless Communism in Europe (I am anti-communist, for your information).

R.I.P. Margaret Thatcher. You will join Reagan on the other side...wherever that will be. Only Gorbachev is left alive now.

Her foreign policy was one of supporting dictators (but what major leader hasn't supported dictators?), but I have to commend her for her domestic policy. She reduced government spending as a percentage of GDP, broke the political power of the unions, and let the IRA criminals starve themselves to death. This isn't high praise, but she's one of the best PMs the UK has ever had.

Well yeah, she was a strong proponent of the same ideology which brought about the nice economic crisis which the world enjoys for the last 5 years. What her government did back in the 80s may had been adequate to an extent but in the long run it's the same short-sighted crap that the liberal economists preach before the economy collapses for the N-th time due to rabid speculation.

Before Thatcher came into power, there was a wide gap between the rich and the poor. The people voted for the Iron Lady and, despite boosting some of the nation's finances, the gap managed to widen. Struggling companies were never given a lifeline and unemployment became the norm.

I respected Margaret Thatcher. She was definitely an important Female Icon and while i don't entirely agree with her ruthless reign (which i admittedly don't know too much about) I can't help but admire her unapolegetic, steadfast, straight-shooting, take-no-prisoners style. I feel that sticking with your ideals and do what you think is right at all costs is a rather underrated trait in politicians nowadays.

I do think it's a good thing she's passed on though. Alzheimer's disease is not a good way to end your life with.

I don't hold it against anyone to celebrate her death on a personal level, even though i find it rather tasteless. I hated Hugo Chavez and Kim Yong-Il but I didn't dance around when they died.

These traits can also be attributed to Hitler. I guess they are not enough on their own, are they?
