General politics thread
Sorry if there's a thread with similar purposes, I didn't see it.
What is your political affiliation? I am a conservative Democrat.
I dislike the extreme bunch, as in national socialism and communism and the like. These ones sound good in theory and do have some positive aspects, but history has shown us they're not the best ways at all.
I also don't agree with some things some liberals stand for.
I believe the political situation in my country isn't really worth talking about, everyone says they will change things and when they get into power things only get worse.

A true nationalist socialist royalist, with a firm system of meritocracy for the gain of the nation rather than personal, so right & left (but not center). Mind you not one of those skin-heads, I believe as I always done:
Every bad Brit is a foreigner, and every good foreigner is a Brit Someone who strives to make this nation a "better" will always have a place in any society run by me.

I'm more for the blues.
And as for American politics, I don't know eveything about the two parties, but generally I liked the Democratic administrations more.

I identify as a liberal. When that confuses Americans because my views are not what they expect from a liberal, I clarify and say that I'm a classical liberal. If they’re still confused, I tell them I'm a pragmatic libertarian, and they usually understand. (Though then I have to explain why I'm calling myself a liberal when I'm a libertarian.)

Are you from the U.S. , if so can you elaborate what liberal means to them? What's the exact difference between a liberal and a libertarian in US politics?

I am an independent conservative.
I believe in a small, unobtrusive government and the Tenth Amendment. The powers of the federal government were enumerated in the Constitution. All other powers are reserved for the people and the individual states. The federal government has greatly overstepped its authority and continues to gather more and more power to itself.
With a small tax rate comes more money in the economy which means a more prosperous nation. Big government is bad business on so many levels. Going back to the smaller government that operates within Constitutional parameters will be difficult achieve because career politicians don't want to give up the votes they are buying with tax dollars.

I think every politician will agree that small taxes are better for economy.
...
At long term, that's the problem. With the current system (4-5 years president function) they are asked to obtain short time results in order to be re-elected.
Is like deposing all your money in a bank. You will get millions in a few years, but if you have nothing right now, you will go bankrupt. But hey, why complaining, it is your system which allows multi-millionaires to become presidents, maybe one day you will learn from smaller countries but with healthier politics: give each candidate 100k dollars and supervise their advertising campaign within this amount. Then the best wins, not the most corrupted.

Outside of academic circles, in the US the word "liberal" (or "progressive") typically refers to what those in Europe would call "social democratic". For some reason, between the beginning of the 20th century and the New Deal, the American definition of "liberalism" became rather anti-market (though not to the point of socialism).

Actually if anarchism was a viable option in this world I would be an anarchist.
Racist because I think no country should accept refugees and all people that move into a country not their own should assimilate into the culture of the country. So no, I don't have any real racist tendencies, just according to the general population, my beliefs identify me as one. Plus I think that saying that humans from different places don't have different qualities is just stupid. Kenyan and Korean look totally the same and perform totally the same in a race, gee, I wonder why we have 2 kenyan's on the olympic medals and no one has ever seen Koreans even running in the olympics and why Kenyan's don't work as actors in Korean dramas.
Communist because I strongly believe we should equalise all people to the same starting line regardless of their family, friends or money. Kind of platon utopian style of ranking based on the way they do at their education. The system will evaluate and assign everyone to where they will be the most useful.
Also because if someone falls ill, the tax money should be used to pay for it regardless of the cost.
Nazi due to how I would execute these.
If you have a self-inflicted disease, like heart disease due to obesity, you will not get any treatment from the public service.
If you are an immigrant who breaks the law or refuses to assimilate, you will get deported.
Also because I believe we should forcefully castrate people with certain genetic conditions.
