From, my side I'd really love to see a Japanese Publisher, like Sega or Namco-Bandai, as an owner of Heroes . :-) [Because I' experienced, that Japanese peoples can, make, miracles with games . :-)

My choise will be Nival (they done little miracle with HOMM5, but it is impossible now because they concentrated on Allods online).
Also i think Neocore Games can make heroes well (Their King Artur 2 is one of my favorite games (perfect combination of RPG/TBS/RTS)).
Big studios make games worther. In a charge for money they use aufull online DRMS, split game on DLC's, fast developing make plot poorer and game easier and more boring.

If someone threw enough money at Stardock they would just create wonders of it.

Fallen Enchantress is basically HoMM with added customization anyway.

Usually pretty ****y graphics though, but it gets the job done.

One that doesn's screw up the ****** game with an online DRM system (Conflux), without ultra-graphics and doesn't release unfinished games.

Neocore Games + 1.000 people + a lot's of  money . Sadly Neocore is a very tiny developer, with a very tiny publisher, behind of Them ( Paradox Interactive ) But I agree, with You, It could be pretty, good . :-)

As insane and unpopular as it might be at this moment, I am happy with the direction Ubisoft has taken with Heroes. Although their execution has been abominable at times, I like their vision for the series and the quality they impart to it -- again minus the flawed execution. I don't trust another entity to "get it right". I was worried that Ubi wouldn't, but they did IMO.

But as for their developer, they really need to find one and support them and stick with them. This developer-du-jour is extremely inefficient and frustrating to fans and Ubi themselves, and is the reason for plague of bugs in H6.

Heroes fans are never satisfied in my experience. If given one thing, they only grouse about not getting something else on their wish list. Giving Heroes to a second tier entity would only add to this problem and diminish the game's stature, when at least Ubi is *trying* to promote the M&M label across the board. Their ideas have been good, and intentions good, but again the execution has been horrific at times.

I think that's much closer to the truth.
On topic - anyone but Ubisoft and EA can get the job done as a publisher. Developer... How much money do you have?

Wow ... I nearly puked. Their chaotic coding ranks them barely (very barely) better than Blackhole Entertainment.

If I had to choose ? Well, simply put :
- not Ubisoft/EA/Blizzard
- not any Chinese/Russian/East European company ... because they've proved to miss their target far too often and to have rather chaotic coding (I remember the NFC Creature Frame nightmares with Nival's poor job).

I agree there's potential here. Stardock would probably be my choice too.

Avatar of the Void uses Tentacle Rape!

It's super effective!

Celestial Big-Busted Loly is paralyzed an can't move!

But seriously, I think it would be a miss. Graphics is one thing (Clash of Heroes has anime-like graphics), but Japanese have a bit of a different view on our fantasy, so they could mess it up with some "funny" ideas. Then again, there are many successful western-style Japanese fantasy games (Dragon's Dogma, Dark Souls) so maybe?

NWC.

In all seriousness, I have no idea.
How about VALVe?

I mean, of all the companies there's nothing particularly WRONG they've been doing so far, and they don't poop all over everyone with terribad DRMs.
Besides, they could implement a fair deal of Steam integration into the game(s), and we all know that Steam is a very good platofrm.

But on the other hand they've never made an actual strategy game, much less a turn-based strategy game. (DotA 2 is basically a port, and it's a very superficial strategy game)

For as much as I didn't like Nival, they at least knew how to make a map editor that people understood and could make numerous maps from.

As for who I would choose, I might give Katauri Interactive a shot as I feel they did a great job on their revival of the King's Bounty series.

I could probably give it to Relic as well, they're not too well versed with TBS but I'm pretty sure they're incapable of not producing awesomeness.

Their work with Warhammer 40K shows they know how to be creative while keeping the feel and atmosphere of their source material.

Yeah, but they tend to add their own, strange ideas It all depends on the developer though...

Don't get me wrong, I love Japanese games and animation, and I have big respect for their developers/artists.

Japanese make some of the best TBS games out there (Western style included) like Fire Emblem or Advance Wars series...

I just don't see the Heroes franchise in their hands, I think there would be too many changes...

"Blizzard". But they don't need this ruined franchise at all, I guess. Nevertheless, "Heroes" by "Blizzard" would have been a masterpiece.

I'm seriously ready to wait about ten years in order to play the "Heroes" game of the highest quality. And I'm sure "Blizzard" are able to create such a game even using the setting of Ashan.
