Hey all,

Just started playing Heroes 3 again, and came across this lovely mod!

A kind member suggested I'd post in this here thread, here is the  problem I've run into:

Set out and built me a gigantic map, sadly I noticed once the map was finished that there seems to be limitations on how much stuff a map can be packed with before it crashes, to explain that in more detail: you can start a game and play it just fine, but once you save and try to load that saved game, it will crash (log can found found here: http://pastebin.com/XMSnnqVB ).

Can you upload savegame file? I'll try to debug loading process. Crashlog information turned to be not enough to solve this problem.

Anyway, you always can manually update HotA. Just install the last version (http://download.h3hota.com/HotA_setup) over previous. Also you can disable auto-update in launcher if it doesn't work properly for you.

Thank you Sav. I also had windows 10 and with their new update, none of my games were compatible, so I recently factory reset back to windows 8 and I am going to reinstall HotA and see if it will update correctly if not, then I will try what you suggested. Thanks again!

I did some testing on my own, the problem stopped once I removed a few things (tho no dwellings was removed). Still, many thanks for taking your time helping, greatly appriciate it.

Analyzed savegame file a bit deeper - the problem was with mines. Savegame can store info about maximum 255 mines (including lighthouses which are also considered as mines by game), if there is more of them, game gets corrupted number of mines and don't read properly anything after mines info.

So you just should not place more than 255 mines on map (in savegame there are 257 mines, probably you have removed some of them to get it work).
In next version it will be fixed and there will be no more mine limit.

I don't know if this relates to HotA or if it's a RoE-SoD bug, but in any case I think it should be corrected, if possible.
Something seems to be wrong with refugee camps, sometimes they produce less creatures than they are supposed to and sometimes it seems to produce the same creatures week after week or like it is going in some kind of cycle, repeating creatures which have been there before?

There seems to be a bug with the Diplomat's Cloak. While wearing it I tried to surrender to several different groups of neutral monsters and every time I would get a message saying that the Shackles of War were present and I could not surrender. I checked my inventory and the Shackles were certainly not present.

After upgrate to 1.4.2 game crash at computer player turn. I tried few times, every time game crach at the same point.

I don't know if it is related to galo11's bug or not, but the game freezes on the pink player's turn in HotA 1.4.2 (in 1.4 everything's OK!). No error messages or crash logs. A random generated map, hot-seat.

Hello there, I've recently downloaded HotA 1.4.2, installed it on the Polish Golden Edition, and it made the game crash at every turn. The new campaign is severely bugged, and most maps won't even open due to resource management errors.

Sorry for not including the crash logs, but I can't seem to find them (they aren't where the game used to put them). I have tried reinstalling HotA several times, to no avail. Any suggestions on what to do? (email: red.blupi@gmail.com)

Well, it seems that you either got some "optimized" version or Polish Golden Version by itself has some important original files missing from it (probably some that were considered "unused"). It is not guaranteed that installation will work on anything other than SoD or Complete edition (as clearly stated in main topic).

Also, it is possible that you don't have enough access rights to the place, where you installed HotA. And also, it is possible that something went wrond during the donwload of HotA files.

the Horn of the Abyss artefact doesn't have "class" in it's description.

Only items which have no class status are the combined ones.
