Overall I think the townscreen is alright

I mean it is by no means perfect,we have the wall that doesn't cover everything(but well there was h2 where the town was outside the walls)

The statue is really a bit big,but I'd expect the ultimate building to be rather big,so I think its not much of a problem

Perspective? Look at Castle in HoMM3, which also have a Grail building as huge golden statue, and tell me, does it look as ugly as in H7 Haven?

No, it looks like a golden statue outside of the town in the middle of nowhere. Brilliant.

I don't get the overreaction. Doesn't it look like arguably the most important building is so far away from the town?

I don't get what bearing the Colossus reference has on the fact that I consider it looks weird that far away from the town. I have no knowledge of the historical area in which the wonder was built but I always imagined it more like this:

And the Haven grail's not facing the outside... but whatever. We're not supposed to mention these things cuz it's freakin heresy.

*cough* Castle *cough*.

It's not a building, it's a huge statue and a huge statue is supposed to be seen from a distance, think of the Statue of Liberty for example, it's not meant be seen when you're right beneath it, it's meant to be seen by the immigrants who are closing in to the island on a ship:

the problem with Elrath's infinite glory is that

1-It doesnt look like it COULD be standing, like just look at those wings
2-It manages to look too close when it should be really far away given the design
3-It doesnt look like a statue, it looks like a titanic golden dragon "lurking" the town
4-Its kinda the same as 1 but it just doesnt look feasible. i mean the H5 castle architecture wasnt either but given the style it worked and the biggass statues were attached to the stone.

Drop the dragon to 1/3 the size or less and stick it on the peak immediately behind the Capitol.

I've got a better idea. Drop the statue, give me a "real" dragon (as a neutral unit). Elrath's design is quite nice, I would definitely like it as a unit.

Too bad this kind of statue would fall under it own weight. There is a reason why you build pedestal first.

I guess it could be hollow, but I'm no expert.
I liked the way it is implemented in the Song of Ice and Fire books, where there are guards inside with murder holes, flaming arrows, etc.

That would make it highly susceptible to wind, methinks.
