Thanks but unfortunately there's not much I can do about this on my end, it is simply due to the nature of mods like this(similar situation to HD mod as you mention).

* Added HD Edition 59 FPS Fix (thanks DataPack for funny Steam thread)

My 8 year old computer can run the game fine at 58/59 FPS, but it cannot record at the same time without dropping frames, making a video pointless. Hence, merely a screenshot with Rivatuner showing FPS for now.

Warning HD Edition Czech/Chinese language users: An unannounced patch has been released for these languages (probably delayed 1.1), breaking some h3mtool features. FPS fix should still work, but Re-visitable Objects and Extra hotkeys may not. Will be fixed.

Thanks a ton for trying to fix the isseues the devs obviously aren't able to.
The map scrolling and animations are smoother the mouse lag is still present, tested both with fullscreeen and windowed mode.

Yeah, for the mouse unfortunately simply increasing the framerate cannot properly fix the lag issues even if increased even further. They are hiding the lag-free system cursor, then drawing a cursor themselves when drawing the rest of the graphics, which will always end up causing mouse lag and stuttering.

The correct way to do it is to let the OS handle the mouse, then it is as fast as in the rest of the OS. I can investigate the possibilities of making a fix for this separate from increasing the framerate. But amongst other things to make the mouse graphic adjust to what is hovered over as it should could be a bit complicated.

I try to convert my AB/SoD maps to RoE, but each map gives me a parsing error "Unknown def". What can be wrong? I have thousands of maps I want to convert, please help me.

It means that on those maps, other objects than the 1000+ standard RoE, AB and SoD objects are used. There is a method to make h3mtool recognize more objects as a user using the Map Editor, but I have not created a guide for it yet. If you post a link to the maps here I can help you convert them (maybe not at once).

Note that h3mtool will still continue with the next map to convert after displaying the message with coordinates and def name for the unknown def of the current map.

If you mean whether you can play HD Edition multiplayer with h3mtool without needing the other players to have it then yes, several have reported this working.

I have been investigating making the HD Edition in-game cursor completely lagless, will make another post about it later today.

This fix throws out HD Edition's mouse rendering and replaces it with system cursor draw (which is what HD mod uses).

Pros:
* Completely lag-free cursor
* Can always see and move cursor, even when game is occupied (e.g during hero moving animation, when entering town etc)

Cons:
* Max 32x32 size for cursor icon
(* May need further updates with tweaks)

It is already in this release as lag-free as is technically possible, namely it will never lag more than your mouse is lagging outside of HD Edition. However, mouse icon size is limited to 32x32.

The code that reads the graphical data to update the cursor icon can be optimized a lot and further tweaked.

What are you currently working on, there are still some HD mod features i'd like to see implemented.

I also noticed the mouse is freaking out when playing in the original graphics mode and when using the mouse fix if you select a item a tiny he piece of that item replaces the cursor but fixes itself when you let go of it.

A thousand thanks for the mouse fix, it really means a lot to me.

For 1.0, I want the current feature set to be working as well as possible, so I might spend some time improving the current features now (for example, map conversion can be further improved in several ways). You can come with suggestions for what you think is good to focus on.

Regarding original graphics mode, it would require most of the cursor fix code (i.e the part that reads the graphical data for current cursor icon) to have another separate implementation since both the underlying graphics data as well as the rendering code is different. I do not think supporting this mode for the cursor fix is currently worth it, so I will leave that as is for now.

Thanks a lot for the cursor fix bug report about moving artifacts,
if you or anyone else sees another cursor icon bug I will fix it if you post about it here.

Thanks for the quick fix!
I'd like to see the quick army management work a little better, letting us use it while inside the castle also if possible getting us those buttons that lets you instantly swtich units/artifacts between heroes.
Replayable fights is very welcome.

I'd like to see game becoming unminimized when it becomes my turn in multiplayer and also the ability to swap troops and artifacts quickly between heroes like complete hd version

Thanks for the suggestions on next features/fixes. I have been following suggestions since the release of this project and will keep doing so. Not all suggestions can be immediately added, but if a good suggestion is provided then there is a high likelyhood it will be implemented eventually.

I have added town screen stack splitting/joining with ctrl/alt (for visiting as well as garrison hero) and also Czech/Chinese Patch 1.1 compatibility for all HD Edition fixes:
