For Academy the better core is indeed the Golem, and Rakshasa the better elite. Apart from their stats and abilities, the requirements and costs of their respective dwellings are also decent pointers as to which core/elite is more powerful compared to the others. It's fairly intuitive.

i dont want to write a review yet, but i cant hold myself to say that THIS GAME IS GONNA BE AWESOME. even with this joy killing bugfest/inbalance/small content etc etc, game feels very much right and deep. every game i play, even with the same map an same faction, turns into a different experience.

i just want one thing, more time! this game can be 2 times better if it gets upgrades/reworks in some abilities/game features. governing needs to be improved, economy skill is brilliant but its the only good option for low-level secondary governer hero. other skills needs low level governing skills that can make some meaning, currently i cant say it is happening. i want to invest exploration-diplomacy for my secondary sometimes, i want to have some other governing ability options like economy offer.

magic guild level for non-academy factions, feels broken, it should at least offer 2 spells from 2 different schools in order to not make player go mad(hate it when it gives me chain lightning when i main light magic).

the kind of immprovements and reworks i want are like those. if ubi cleans bugs, and adds/upgrades/reworks some of game elements, i ant see why this game cnat evolve into best heroes ever made. yes i dare to say it, this game is indeed have a potential to be the best heroes game.

by the way, i hope those system requirements will be much lower in final game, its not a wise thing to force strategy/fantasy players to play on beast-like computers/laptops. its a thing that FPS players do, strategy players are not used to this, they play games of mind, not super graphics.

Too many "if-s" for Ubi. Know they have to add two more factions and we are just few months away from releasing the game. And bugs are still a problem.

I experience the same, on a stationary.

I do not experience this on my PC.

My impressions of the Haven faction:

Crossbowman: Good but somewhat unreliable shooter with its wide damage range. I think it's kinda boring that they have the same speoial ability as in H6 though, especially since atleast two other creatures in H7 ALSO have line attack (Academy's Disciples and Dryad's Leaf Daggers according to the files).

Sentinel: Again, same as in H6 but with less abilities. I think it's boring that it's the same unit again but it was a good idea to split up its H6 abilities between the Sentinel and the Jusiticar, that makes its role as a unit more distinctive and refined. With those shields it should have kept its passive reducing ranged damage taken though.

Wolf: I thought I would hate these since I despise having real-life animals as creatures in a fantasy game, but it's actually one of my favourite units. I really like the Feral Charge ability which while very useful also comes with a lot of risk for the Doggies' lives.

Horseman: It's the same as in ANY. OTHER. HEROES. GAME. Atleast H5 and H6 gave them some new abilities. Meh.

Justicar: They're like a hybrid between H6 Sentinels and H3 Crusaders. I love it! They fit perfectly into Haven's defensive formation. Also yay for atleast one female unit in a ridiculously male dominated faction.

Abbots: It's this unit again and this time its special ability is... a Defense boosting aura? Really? Meh.

Seraph: Back to basics again, they look cool but there's nothing original about them. Meh.

Swordmaster: I've always though this was a ridiculous unit an I still think it is, but atleast its fun sweeping enemies to death.

Special buildings: I like the choices between growth boost buildings but I don't really see the point in a lot of the area of control buildings. I wish when you built something you would see the building "phase" in to the town screen like in previous Heroes games.

Righteousness: I really like it! I love that they moved away from the H6 system where every racial skill was essentially the same gauge with some different effect. I also love the H7 skill system and how Righteousness has its own dedicated skill tree which in combination with other skills, create a lot of nice combos. Like mass buff spells triggering it.

War Machines: I never upgraded them so I don't know if they get special abilities or anything. I like how every faction has different warfare units though the Sister being HUGE in comparison to all other units looks sort of ridiculous. It makes imo a lot more sense for them to be behind the frontlines though.

Overall, Haven is as unoriginal as ever but there's great synergy between all the different troops which in combination with Righetousness makes it a very fun army to play as.

mine too!!!! and it is more than adequate for this game. also the speed setting don't work!!

I've been playing with Random level up on, and I frequently get offered 0 or 1 skill to choose, while I always get 2 ability choices. I have available skills or skill levels, so I don't know why they're not being offered. Is this a bug or am I not understanding how the random choices/skill wheel work?

(I haven't played Free level up, so I don't know if one is restricted from choosing skills for some reason.)

You need to take at least 1 abiltiy before you can level up a skill.

wouldn't fall victim to my own hype if I were you, even Heroes 6 had potential to be the best Heroes game, and yet basically none of its massive problems were dealt with from the beta to the release lol

Read the green/yellow/red dots that appear when you make changes. It's possible you have to restart the game for them to take effect.

Ah, thanks War-overlord. That explains it.

Is there also a limit on the total number of skill categories you can have? Like 5? (Because I'm not getting offered any new skill categories.)

Does the UI leave that clear? In other words, can you see it like in H3/H4/H5?




Or the remaining skills greyed out in the Skillwheel, just like aurelian skillwheel did?

to be honest i thought the dots were a visual glitch...
btw i can't post on the official ubi forums for bugs.
so apart from the pyramid not shooting anything, the building to sacrifice artifacts doesn't work. i sacrificed a hat and got nothing in return!
btw i still think speed does not respond to the meter.
also i play the small map and i can't find where to go

the disciple's nova doesn't have a cooldown and it's almost more powerful than his normal attack!!
game crashes EVERYTIME with a LONG combat i have with the air elementals on the small map -.-
game is still very slow even with the 400% speed.

I would like (I don't know if it's on the BETA), to add the ''very low graphics'' options. I want that option because I enjoy the Homm7, but my s***y computer doesn't allow so high graphics, and I want to play. Can someone ask for this to Ubisoft, plz ?

very sad but very very very true. the problem is ubi not giving enough time/resources for this game! they just don't want to.
and indeed i still remember the hype for heroes 6 and how it turned out.
yet i have a glimmer of hope, because this bug report could have been happening during the first weeks of game release...

TD, thank you for describing 95% of problems that I've experienced in H7! I do agree with you and I'd add the UI as a problem to the list. For me it is the worst UI I've seen so far (I played H3-H6). What is surprising for me as well is that I thought H7 will be better than H6 but for now I am not even sure if I can still think this way. The game feels like no-brainer and irritates my eyes with the UI and sometimes with its weathered colours on adventure map.

come on even the unit movement in the battlefield is awful! they have a lot of work ahead of them! i ll try and sacrifice a goat tomorrow because only smth like this will save the game!
