Crashes

- Academy on 4 person map against 3 AI. Pyramid firing at wolves during first round and game client crashed to desktop.  Windowed mode 1.5 hours in.

- Alt-tabbing in fullscreen mode is unreliable usually results in crash.

- some crashes appear to be video-card related.

- Moving to attack something on the adventure map can bring up combat options before reaching destination. starting combat before hero reaches target brings up another combat options menu when the hero does reach target and game crashes.

General bugs

-sounds and animations are out of sync. Gargoyles and Djinns move in crazy spirals. all flying creatures appear to have broken animations.

- Playing on a non-widescreen monitor and going into town creates black bars on the top and bottom of screen that persists after town visit. Fixed by going to skillwheel but returns if going back to town. Opposite problem with black bars on the left and right of screen arises when playing on ultra-wide monitor.

- some portraits (Myrim) change background colours when going between adventure map and towns. blue normally, black in town.

- Missing or wrong combat animations for creatures.

- Tooltip says no retaliations for all attacks but creatures retaliates anyway.

- Creatures do not always move to where they were ordered during battles.

- Clicking the "next turn" button does not always work. going into the save-menu momentarily fixes this. Sometimes this happens on the fourth day. Quick-key works in this case.

- Conquered mines are done with your snow and rebels on the first map.

- killed stacks sometimes go into their "idle" animation rather than "dead" animation.

- Sometimes creatures can only be recruited through the "recruit all" button.

- In the building tab built buildings sometimes disappear.

-sometimes clicking "next turn" will reveal an area of the map for a few seconds.

- creatures unable to go through a destroyed academy gate during siege-battle. Sometimes it will shroud a revealed area instead.

- Heroless army gains experience.

- AoE spells sometimes moves after deployment.

- playing with "free skills" setting makes icons and GFX go bananas.

- Desktop icon only having a few pixels.

- Starting game in windowed mode does not allow any higher resolution than 1825 * 1027. Was able to get up to 1925 * 1027 at a later time. Native resolution was 1920*1080

- Video setting options not persistent in whether to have low-high or high-low.

- "Week of labour" reveal mines through the shroud.

- Sometimes empty, numbered boxes appear on the left-hand side of the screen. (image)

- Two copies of the heal spell present at the same time.

- Opening the spellbook in combat highlights the spellbook icon on the adventure map preventing clicking the next turn button. opening and closing the spellbook fixes this momentarily.

- Replacing a hero with architect with a hero without architect does not remove the building price-reduction.  

- When exiting subterranean hero turns black.

- resource piles and guardians sometimes go black.

- If the hero enters a Subterranean entrance at the end of his movement points, he will just end up in the surface location and nothing happens. Waiting a day, moving back a few steps and then re-entering takes the hero to the underground level.

- Winning battle to then press "play again" automatically wins combat with no losses after the setup phase.

- Battle map loading icon goes half off-screen on 1680x1050 and 1600x1024 resolutions.

- Opening hero ability screen for the first time cause the highlighter to cycle through skills very fast without input.

- Haven lvl. 1 fortification did not show up in town until exiting and re-entering.

- Sometimes, Tax-collectors and Storehouses do not give resources.

- Week of plague not deadly enough. Priest dwelling built day seven before week of plague did not lose the initial 5 creatures.

- Air spell for moving creatures does not move creatures.

- Academy building supposed to add 2 debuffs to enemy creatures in town ZoC does not do that.

- Gargoyles sometime shown to be susceptible to magic (Do they still take damage/spell effects?).

- Small pyramid occasionally bugs out and gets brighter and has three models of itself. This appear to give it a bunch of actions every turn.

- Hero turning into a gray and blue rectangle.

- Weird lights in the middle of the battle map and over the enemy disciples. (IMAGE)

- Ylath's clairvoyance does not reveal the map properly, only on the minimap.

- Instant recall has lousy Wi-Fi

- Week og gargoyles does not adequately increase Gargoyle growth.

- Scrolls occasionally lies about what spell it is (academy frostbolt is resurrection)  and occasionally doubles the amount of scrolls in the spellbook.

- "chest" slot is for "hands" for artifacts.

- Using instant recall to get to town and then walking anywhere causes the hero to teleport to the position she was before casting

- Entire map going black save for mountain outlines and one banner.

- Town missing from minimap when in town screen.

- Seeing AI turns complete with their line of sight

- Viewing notifications about enemy actions

- during a siege combat a Cabir was placed in a square occupied by a disciple. Once the disciple died the cabir was untargetable.

- Sometimes flags showing stack-size during battles are smaller than others.

- there is misplaced ribbon indicating the wrong turn at the start of a battle

- a point indicating the target place to move is green although there are no movement points

- sometimes the flag about mines is doubled

- hero is not rotating properly when walking

- enemy hero flag is shown although the terrain is unrevealed

- Cabir foundry is increasing the gargoyle growth

-fighting a couple of abbots with haven and opening the creature window on the enemy abbots by right-clicking them for some reason my mouse bound to the initiative bar. Only possible course of action was to move the bar in the opposite direction moving the mouse in and opening new creature windows. No buttons funtion.

- Exiting the underground as Mellisandre to attack Tyris causes the game to get stuck on the loading screen.

- Governor creature growth bonuses can't make up its mind whether to work or not.

- Seemingly impossible to instant recall between underground and aboveground.

- sacrificing artifacts in the appropriate academy building doesn't do snow.

- Arkaths novice spell does nothing.

- Creature growth hero specialties do jack snow.

- Main hero recruitable in tavern despite already being in service.

- Hero specializations are useless.

- Heroes have no history.

Missing features

- No loading-bar.

- Unable to right-click for info during AI turn.

- No way to turn off auto-save.

- alt-tabbing unavailable.

- No hero attack or spell sounds.

- Only able to decide game speed in general. no ability to change hero or AI speed.

- Banners missing colours.

- AI progress bar shows no progress.

- Flying creatures missing sound-effects.

- "Luck roll" animation does not always show.

- no mana indicator in spellbook.

- no building animation.

- Artifacts have no effect.

- double-clicking hero/town does not bring you to their respective screens.

- shield artifact slot.

- missing indicators for buffed/debuffed creatures unless you actively right-click them during combat.

- Previous creature positions not remembered between combats.

- Information about hero is missing in game setup.

- Game setup has two buttons on the "status-column" to the right. on's a boot the other unidentified. The boot cannot be clicked. The other can be clicked but does nothing.

- Weekly adventure map locations do not properly display that they've been visited.

- Double-clicking on a town with a hero selected moves the hero to it rather than opening the town-screen.

- Selecting a building in the building tab that will make another building unavailable makes the text "Becomes unavailable:" appear. ":" indicates further information yet none is given.

- No artifact description or pop-up when picking up artifacts.  

- Architect skill-description not yet complete.

- Guardian armor does not display proper values in tooltip.

- movement reminder for "end-turn" is unavailable.

- Creature-screens outside combat.

- magic guild lacking enough magic.

- Tooltip for adventure map locations do not properly show if they've been visited.

- skill text not fitted correctly for random skill selection squares.

Crashes during battles

-Was Academy on 4 person map against 3 AI. Multiple crashes to desktop during battles.  Was playing windowed mode.  

-Casting Time Control - Haste on Cabir causes Cabir to be unable to shoot.  He has to move or skip turn.  Choosing wait, causes him to lose his turn.

OK, played 6 hours in a row without single crash (lucky me)! But there is lot of:

Buggs:
------

-when doing siege against Academy town I was unable to enter their city after the gate was destroyed. Their units were also blocked so it was just battle of shooters/flyers (looked like invisible obstacle blosked the way in/out).

-lot of sounds/animations are out of sync (including crazy spiraling animation of moving djinns/gargoyles).

-artifacts were totaly unusable (when equipped, my hero got no bonuses at all and sometimes the icons was changing or completly disappering).

-placing AoE spells was sometimes weird as I clicked on precise target area but the spell just moved a bit (same goes for nova ability).

-there was bug with elite units when hiring them (I got all resourcess needed but still the button "hire/hire all" was grayed out).

-grafical glitch when playing with "free skills" setting (when skill whell was opened all icons and gfx of it was just messy rotating like there was a tornado unleashed on it ).

Annoying stuff:
---------------

-healing sound of healing sisters

-small/tiny numbers of army stacks when triggering the fight window

-small and weird icon to enter a town (would be better to have it on right side of screen with icons of towns as in older Heroes)

-you cannot double click on your hero/army in town to check stuff

-only 8 slots for artefacts (where is place for shield?)

-very bad animation for fireball spell (H5 was cool!)

-buffs/debuffs cannot be seen on creatures untill you right-click (would be nice to see some change of color or small icon near stack number)

As I'm told, your arranged creatures in the tactic phase is not remembered for next combat...I don't even have the game yet I feel to request this feature.

Remember, it was intended that even if the enemy hero were to lose, he/she would still gain experience after the battle. It was seen even in the first gameplay videos, where Ivan battled wizards.

Here are my Might & Magic: Heroes 7 Beta bugs and findings so far.

- The desktop icon shows only a few pixel lines from the middle of the icon, the rest of the icon is invisible (this persists after a reboot);

- On initial game launch, it's in windowed mode. Selecting the maximum monitor resolution will fail and set it back to a lower resolution. Putting the game in full screen mode allows for the maximum monitor resolution;

- When selecting videocard settings, some of the options list the possible settings from high to low and others from low to high;

- ALT-TABing in and out of the game in full screen mode is shaky at best and often results in a crash (probably related to video card drivers, but I installed my nVidia GTX 670 only a month ago);

- When selecting the Hero before starting a skirmish, you can't see any info about the selected Hero;

- The pre-game menu with the various sides shows a "Status" column at the far right, with two icons. One is a boot, the other is unidentifiable. The boot icon can't be clicked, the other icon can. However, there is no description what either icon means;

- During a "Week of Labour", Ore Pits and Sawmills have double production. Mines are labeled with a floating icon on the campaign map when this is the case - but the icon is visible through the shroud - pointing out the locations of these mines (and thereby possible locations for enemy towns);

- Combat feels slow;

- During the deployment phase, there's a large banner indicating such. However, that banner also overlaps the enemy deployment, making it hard to see their battlelines and deploy your army accordingly;

- At some point, I ended up with 6 empty, black boxes on the left side of my screen, all numbered (1 through 6) in the top left corner of each box (image). No idea what they are and what they do;

- When switching back from Full Screen mode to Windowed mode, the game reported switching to a resolution of 1825 x 1027 ... (image)

- I built a Blacksmith and it didn't show up immediately on the town screen. The building plan showed it as constructed, but it wasn't there in town and neither could I build Siege weapons. I had to leave town and once I re-entered it, it showed up as expected;

- At one point, my Hero got two identical copies of the Heal spell in her spellbook. Unsure what triggered this (image);

- Whenever I opened my spellbook in combat, the game will have the spellbook button highlighted once I return to the campaign map. As long as it's highlighted, I can click the "End Turn" button all I want, but the turn won't end. I have to open the spellbook and close it, before I can once again "End Turn" as expected;

- Visiting map locations with a weekly refresh doesn't give a clear feedback that you've accessed the weeks' supply, you only see a small counter adding up at the relevant resource which is barely noticable;

- Double-left-clicking a Town doesn't select it, as it was the case in previous installments. Instead, it starts to move your active Hero towards that Town;

- There are many cases where the combat tooltip indicates an enemy unit will not retaliate, especially when flanking, but when the actual attack is made, the enemy creature retaliates anyway;

- When you make a choice for one of two possible buildings, there's some text below the one you didn't select: "Becomes unavailable:". The ":" implies something else is supposed to follow, but there is no further text;

- When you pick up an Artifact, you only get some float text with the Artifacts' name, nothing else. Not even a pop up window showing its icon and description;

- The "Architect" perk lists a "?%" in its description (image);

- The "Architect" perk reduces a 1000 Gold cost down to 799 Gold, which is a reduction of 20.1%. That's a rather odd value, where a straight-up 20% would have been more logical;

- When you assign a Hero with the Architect perk to become the Governor of a Town, all building prices are reduced accordingly. However, when you assign another Hero to become the new Governor, who doesn't have this perk, the price reduction remains in effect;

- Guardian Armor says it reduces damage to the target creature from "val1 to val2", instead of real values;

- There is no warning when you "End Turn", while one or more of your Heroes still have movement points left;

- During play time, I suffered a few hard crashes that forced me to reboot my entire system. In the Windows event logger, I found references to the MMH7Game-Win64-Shipping.exe file and nvd3dumx.dll, so it's probably video card related (I won't post the Windows event logs of those crashes here, don't want to spam the forum );

This seemed to happen to me every single time on the load of a saved game. The six boxes are notification placeholders for tracked quests in the UI, I believe...and we should never seem them unless we are given an option to customize the UI. Thanks for reminding me.

Boxes on the left side of the screen are quick spells or favourite spells. When you open spellbook you can see those black boxes too. Just drag-drop a spell there and you can use them in combat directly without using/opening spellbook. However its bugged and after save/load those spell will be removed and only black boxes remain.

Thanks for that info. I accidently started my game as a hotseat match, which did provide me with a real sandbox mode play without any pressure ... this effect, however, occured only with the player whose main Hero had no spells yet. The other player did have a Magic main Hero and the boxes didn't appear for that Hero. So, the presence of the boxes toggled between player turns all the time, really odd.

I can confirm this one too, I forgot to mention it in my report. In my case, the Cuirassiers who were guarding two "black" Gold piles had also turned black themselves.

I'll try to clarify these two a bit more.

The first one is simply that the game window is in windowed mode during the first start-up of the game ever. Going into the Settings, you can change the resolution being displayed. I decided to stick to Windowed mode (for ease of access to my Windows taskbar and stuff I had open on my second monitor), but switch the Windowed mode resolution to the maximum available of my primary monitor: 1920x1080. However, as soon as I selected that resolution, the game mentioned that it couldn't be displayed and instead went into 1825 * 1027 (which isn't a very traditional resolution ...). By the way, somewhat later in the evening I managed to get it to 1925 * 1027 too .

The other one, with the building choice: it shows both buildings side by side, with the one you selected being highlighted by a yellow border. Below the image of the other one is the text "Becomes unavailable:". That ":" looks really odd, because it suggests that more text should follow, like a clarification or something, but there's nothing there. It's just a textual issue, but one that irks me .

With the resolution one, you might want to add that the native monitor resolution was 1920x1080 (which makes the 1925x1027 a really odd one - I have no clue how I managed that one, didn't think of making a screeny of that one).

I've found some disturbing glitches:

- When you win a battle and press fight again button, after you place your troops, you will automatically win without any losses. Battle summary screen says that you gain zero exp after this, but exp bar will show exact number as before.
- When catapult breaks enemy wall you still cannot walk through the gap with walking units.

And some of graphical glitches as well:

- Loading icon for battle map goes half offscreen on 1680x1050 resolution.
- Glitches with all flying units when they move (griffins look awful).

And I have a question. I have only 4 gig of RAM. When battle map stats to load, everything freezes for 5+ sec and then battle starts. After some time loading time seems to get longer. Do you guys have same problem or this happens because of lack of RAM?

Not necessarily a bug but worth mentioning nontheless, I think.
So being busy yesterday I only got around to installing the beta-client today. After installing the c++ aditional module thingy, my computer up and rebooted itself. I'm guessing that's necessary for the module, but you may wanna give a feller a warning and a confirmation buttom, so he can save and shut down what he was doing.
Edit: turns out it wasn't finished installing when that happened. So I'm not certain it had anything to do with the install. still is weird though

This is a bug though. When I opened a Hero ability screen for the first time, the highlighter started cycling through the abilities very fast on it's own accord.

Not a bug but a UI improvement. It would be realy nice to see the class and specialisation of the hero you're selecting.

Confirmed, I've seen this as well, even if it was on 1600x1024.

I didn't see this one, but I have seen mention of it elsewhere. I did have 2 fights against Griffins so far.

I have 8 GB of RAM in my machine; didn't notice the slowdowns. I did read somewhere that the current client is a memory hog, at one point reaching 7 GB memory usage. I didn't check on my own system when I quit for the night, but will try to remember it next time.

When I fought Crossbowmen on the 4th day, my end turn button stopped working. The quick-key worked and the button worked again the next day.
Edit: Happened again on the 4th day of the second week, though it was Cavaliers and not Crossbowmen. Seems for some reason the end turn button does not work on the 4th day of a given week.

When I built my lvl 1 fortification, it didn't show up in my townscreen. I had to exit and enter again before it showed up. Playing Haven.

Check your spellbook icon on the campaign map. Is it highlighted with a yellow border? Then open it and close it again, it should fix it. It becomes highlighted like that when you open your spellbook during combat. Obvious bug.

That may be the case, the quick-key also works, but it still needs to be fixed.

Another bug, Tax-collectors and Storehouses do not give any resources when visited.

The lack of a proper creature screen also annoys me. I want a place where I can look up the stats and abilities and lore of creatures with leisure outside of combat.

During the week of Plague, when new dwellings are supposed to start empty, the priory I built on day 7 contained the 5 chaplains it has normally.

The first time OR first week they don't. But the second time/second week they do.
