really? no love for a guy who captured our hearts as a cannibalistic chainsaw-wielding maniac who was inspired by ed gein(a real-life monster who decorated himself and his humble abode in human body parts and indulged in extreme forms of self-gratification) in one of the greatest horror movies of all time?
the lack of dark hilarity in this place is particularly disturbing. it's like i stepped into some disney fantasy world.

You did. Glad we still have you though, a humourous dark mind is not easy to find.
PS I must be the only person in this forum not to have watched these movies. Surprising for something so classic.

I don't think I've ever sat down and watched any of the Chainsaw Massacre, Jason, Freddy, or Halloween movies. I've just seen bits and pieces of them.

You're not. I also haven't watched any film from this franchise. I don't like horror movies.

waaaat? if you guys ever get a chance, curl up with some popcorn, and watch the original tcm. it has a special feel to it. it might not be as horrific as some of today's horror movies, but back when the film was released, it made people actually throw up in the theaters. many people left because of how uncomfortable it made them. the original slasher film.
the only movies that compare with it, are the remake, and the remake prequel.
you'll want to watch them(if you're going to), in this order:
1. the texas chainsaw massacre (1974)
2. the texas chainsaw massacre - the beginning (2006)
3. the texas chainsaw massacre (2003, remake)
these are my top 3 favorite horror movies("the shining" is a close 4th, but there are many right behind the tcm's). the original tcm holds a special place in my heart; it's a horror movie that plays with your head a little, because they threw in some surreal weirdness(which rob zombie tried to add when he made his "house of 1,000 corpses", but failed miserably, imo).
