The hack for Sword of Judgement is still working. (So is the hack for Helm of Heavenly Enlightenment.)
Also does anyone know how to remove the rare resource cost, from magic schools, in Conflux's Magic University?
And is it possible to have a skill only have 2 levels, so instead of Basic/Advanced/Expert, it would have only Basic/Advanced or Advanced/Expert? For example Logistics and Necromancy could have 10/20/NA and Intelligence could have 25/50/NA...

Hota does not respond to edits to the campfire/wagon/lean-to functions in the .exe
How does the DLL interfere with it - does it activate at start/end? of the function?
How do I stop it?
A general question.

Is it possible to make Sacrifice work, so it does'nt remove a corpse after being cast?
And is it possible to make Orb of Vulnerabilty NOT remove Resistance skill and specialty?

Is it possible to make Angel Wings work like Boots of Speed and Equestrians Gloves, so you only have to wear them at the start of the day, to get the effect?
Alternatively can it just give Expert Fly, in spellbook, when equipped?
I hate how cumbersome Angel Wings are to use currently, especially if you have Cape of Velocity or Vampire's Cowl or CotUK (as Necro) and you have to switch constantly.

You can turn it off in "Tools/Map Specifications" on the upper options bar, it's the "Allow coming of leveled heroes to tavern" checkbox.
I never tried if changing a map directly affects a current game... would be interesting if you try that, and come back with the info

Hello here,
Just had some ideas to change a bit spells.
I write it here if someone is interested and have ideas to do it.
For "elementals invocation spells" I suggest this change :
- X = Hero's Spell Power * Value in spell table * Orb value % (if you get the appropriate orb)
- Number of elemental you cast = X / HP of elemental (30 for water, 40 for earth...) and the "rest" is the HP of last elemental
Sample 1 : Lets say you cast "Water elemental" with X = 60
It will make 2 water elemental (60/30 = 2).
Sample 2 : Lets say you cast "Air elemental" with X = 60
It will make 3 air elementals, the last with 10 HP (60/25 = 2 and "the rest" is 10)
Sample 3 : You're the same hero we got in sample 2 but with "air orb" and cast "Air elemental". X= 60+(50%)*60 = 90.
It will make 4 air elementals the last with 15HP (90/25 = 3 rest 15)
If its too complex, just round up/down the value.
Advantage in there is abilty to change a bit more the effect of spell power and take care of orb who can be quite logic ?
The second spell I'd like to change is "resurrection" (same for reanimation, I'd like its not permanent at all levels) :
- To make the spell "less bad" when its not permanent... If I'm not making mistakes, the total amount raised is counted and deduced from the stack at the end. So it does not prevent any death, it just makes a stack keep big to hurt.
I suggest instead of "counting the amount dead" its counts the "lower amount remained alive".
Example : A stack of 50 creatures.
You loose 10 in fight and resurrect it.
Then you loose 5 after the reanimation.
At end "actually" it says "you loosed 10 + 5 total = 15" so 50-15 = 35 surviving.
I'd prefer : you track the minimum amount you had in stacks : 40 one time in battle, it was the minimal value so you keep 40 (we consider the "resurrecteded are the one who died again").
So the basic level shall be less weak and "protects the other members from death" (I thought to not make permanent until "expert" but that's only my opinion to help to make the archangel's less strong in placing them the ability to resurrect temporarily if not on magic grounds).
Just two ideas.

Hello!
Does anyone know how to edit starting armies and skills for heroes from Cove and Factory using a hex editor? For "normal" heroes (those from the original 8 factions) the data starts around address 279... - it starts with Orrin and ends with Xeron, after that there are several copies of some generic Castle hero (some kind of dummies) and then that's it.
Where are the new heroes? Has anyone been able to edit heroes for the new factions?

They are in the Hota.dat file.
Cove and Factory heroes are quite early in the file.
It's easy to change starting unit types and amounts for example.

Is there a way to make Haste/Slow and Bless/Curse NOT counter each other?
Either by having both pair of spells be active at the same time or by for example dispelling Slow if you cast Haste, but not actually apply Haste etc.
I mean it is possible with Fortune/Misfortune and Mirth/Sorrow, so I would like Haste/Slow and Bless/Curse to work in the same way.
I think the counter effect is way too powerful, especially for cheap level 1 spells...
