I mean it is also kinda random, sometimes you will get creatures you actually have room for, sometimes you wont.
So sometimes Diplomacy can be almost completely useless and sometimes it's great, depending on which creatures spawn and also if they want money or not.

Yes, it is one of the skills, like Resistance, that are occasionally/situationally extremely beneficial. But I do believe adjusting the stats can go a long way to either reducing the odds of the benefit occuring or reducing the magnitute of the benefit.
P.S. I need to quickly roll back on one thing. Doubling the aggression value would more than halve the chances of passing the tests, it might be closer to reducing them by a factor of 4-8 somewhere, lets say by a constant.
I think most players are so used to diplomacy being broken that they either love it and use it all the time to cheese through their games or hate it and dont use it at all. In either case its tough to develop a perspective on how often Diplomacy really comes into play in its current form and how big a benefit it actually creates. A couple of games with Adela or Whatshisname as a main could help collect at least some anecdotal data.

Is it possible to expand the backpack? Say for example 10 x 10 slots, instead of 8 x 8.

@phoenix4ever How did you manage to increase the number of skill slots?

CsArOs you need to edit a lot of different hex addresses.
I can specify tomorrow, if you are interested.
I currently run with 10 skills, so it takes longer to master the skills, which also means Learning is more useful.
8 skills is too little I think, 9 or 10 seems to be the sweet spot.
Be aware that 9th and 10th skills won't show on the hero sheet, but they still work perfectly fine.

Well, phoenix4ever, please do send it if it's not a problem. Even if its a few addresses
I have another question that hopefully people will know - where is the formula for Sacrifice located in h3hota hd.exe? I need specifically the part that checks unit count of units inside of the sacrificed stack.

Okay CsArOs you need to change 14 addresses:
DAFCE, E256A, 9F90B, A7DDO, 17417F, 124B3D, 124B9A, 1253C4, 1260DF, 1287DF, 12BE15, 1F0C87, 1F0F50 and finally 12535F.
At all these addresses 08 is written, change it to 09 or 0A, if you want 9 or 10 skills etc.
The only issues:
As I said graphics only support 8 skills and if you play HotA you know how you can say no to a skill from a scholar on the adventure map. For some reason you can't say no to their skill after you have 8 skills. So just be sure to save before visiting a scholar, if you already have 8 skills.

For 1.8.0 HotA.dll you have to change 175421h. Actually, there are more addresses in HotA.dll you will need to change for more than 8 skills to work properly.

Okay, I did'nt know that. I have to test if that fixes the issue. Does it also have to be changed to for example 0A, for 10 skills?
I believe you are the one who provided me with the 14 addresses Alex and it seems to work just fine in my game.
What else do you think needs to be changed in HotA.dll?

Think of new map objects such as Seafaring Academy and Hermit’s Shack. They, too, give or improve secondary skills, so there must be additional checks. I have the list of addresses but they are not checked, so some of them might be responsible for how the game shows secondary skills’ icons in various interfaces, and therefore might be a reason for crashes if changed.

Ahh okay, so it might cause crashes and you are not sure about what to change, that's fair enough.
I don't use Seafaring Academy in my game, I consider it extremely OP. (Potentially 9 skills up per hero!)
Hermit's Shack seems to work just fine, but I could be wrong.
I don't know if there is more HotA related stuff?
